ARAHAN KEPADA PELAJAR / INSTRUCTIONS TO STUDENTS

1. Tugasan ini mengandungi DUA (2) soalan sahaja yang disediakan dalam bahasa modul bercetak kursus ini. / This assignment contains only TWO (2) questions that are set in the language of the printed module for the course.

2. Jawab dalam Bahasa Melayu atau Bahasa Inggeris. / Answer in Malay or English.

3. Muat turunkan templat tugasan versi bahasa yang berkenaan daripada MyVLE untuk penyediaan dan penyerahan tugasan anda. Tugasan anda hendaklah ditaip dengan menggunakan Times New Roman fon saiz 12 dan langkau 1.5. baris/ Download the language version of the assignment template concerned from the MyVLE for preparation and submission of your assignment. Your assignment should be typed using 12 point Times New Roman font and 1.5 line spacing.

4. Anda dikehendaki menghantar tugasan SECARA ON-LINE melalui MyVLE. Sila rujuk kepada portal untuk arahan mengenai prosedur menghantar tugasan anda secara on-line. Anda dinasihatkan menyimpan senaskah tugasan yang diserahkan untuk rujukan sendiri. / You must submit your assignment ON-LINE via the MyVLE. Tugasan ini menyumbang sehingga 30% daripada jumlah markah kursus berkenaan. / This assignment accounts for 30% of the total marks for the course.

Anda akan diberikan maklum balas tentang tugasan ini sebelum Peperiksaan Akhir Semester bermula / You would be given feedback on the assignment before the Final Semester Examination commences.

QUESTION 1

A study on identifying the basic category of thinking skills has been conducted among 100

students in a selected secondary school. In this study, 7 main questions have been constructed

based on 7 dimensions of thinking skills and each question gives a maximum of 2 marks.

Table 1 shows the thinking skills scores among the students.

a) If the scores can be classified into 3 main groups as shown in Table 2, construct a

pie chart (in percentage) to represent the data.

b) Analyse the thinking skills scores obtained by the students based on your pie

chart.

c) By using class interval of 0-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-11 and 12-14,

i. Construct a histogram for the scores.

ii. Construct a cumulative frequency polygon “less than or equal” and

estimate number of students who did not score 10.

QUESTION 2

A mathematics test has been administered to a group of 40 students. The results of the test are

shown in Table 3 below.

a) construct a histogram of students’ test results.

b) state the relative frequency (in decimal ) for the fifth class.

c) calculate the following:

i. mean

ii. mode

iii. median

iv. variance

v. standard deviation.
