MATLAMAT(GOALS):
To foster skill and apply knowledge and understanding regarding procedures and aspects of
engineering geology before embarking on any engineering projects.
SINOPSIS(SYNOPSIS):
Engineering geology is a subfield of geological study concerning about the geological inputs and theuses of the information to solve the engineering problems. This subject apply thegeologic sciences
to engineering practice for the purpose of assuring that the area geologic factors affecting the design
and construction of engineering works are recognized and adequately provided for. This subject
gives the exposure to the students to investigate and provide geologic and geotechnicalrecommendations, analysis, and design associated with human development. The scope of this
course are introduction and background of earth geology, the formation processes of earth structures,
formation, classification and characteristics of rock engineering, the scale of geology time and theapplication of the stratigraphy, structural geology and the principle of rock mechanics.
HASIL PEMBELAJARAN(LEARNING OUTCOMES):
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to :
1. Classify and characterize the rocks based on formation.2. Work in a team and satisfy all geological assessment requirements in order to complete the
assigned task
3. Organize engineering geology project related to real civil engineering application.
