Sharmendra MadavanM&E Technician, Grand Margherita Hotel

Sharmendra routinely ensures that all equipment are functioning during his shifts. During a midnight shift on June 30, he detected a system discrepancy and quickly rectified it in accordance with our SOP.

His hobby includes listening to music, football and repairing electrical and mechanical items. When asked what he sees himself doing when he retires, he replied that he would most probably be running his repair business.

Apart from providing excellent customer service and attending to the cleanliness of the pool, Paul also ensures the safety of all guests at the poolside. On August 9, he assisted a guest with a leg cramp and his swift action has resulted in a positive stay experience which contributed to building guest love for our hotel.

When he is not at work, Paul keeps fit with regular football and badminton matches with his friends. When he is not feeling competitive, he bowls.

Our People2014 Honesty Award

Jepin Anak JuebLaundry Assistant, Riverside Majestic Hotel

What Jepin loves about being part of the Riverside Majestic family is the support she receives from her team. Last December, while sorting out guest laundry, she found RM 220 in a jacket. She immediately handed the money to her supervisor and it was returned to the owner.

In her 22 years with the hotel, she has reported and returned more than RM 2000 to guests.

“When I retire, I will be happy knowing that I was an honest, hardworking lady, who found joy in her work and supporting her colleagues,” she said when asked about retirement.

Jinti enjoys the routine of ensuring guest comfort and room cleanliness. She replenishes amenities, prepares rooms according to our SOP and keeps an eye out for anything beyond the ordinary. While cleaning a checked out room on June 26, she came across an envelope near the bedside table, which contained Rp 11 million (approximately RM 3000). She immediately notified her supervisor and the money was returned to the owner.
