Human beings relation to that which they regard as holy, sacred, spiritual or divine. Religion is commonly regarded as consisting of a persons relation to God or to Gods or spirits. In recent times, the study of religion becomes salient in understanding a society,[footnoteRef:3] although Anthony Giddens suggests otherwise prior to the modern age.[footnoteRef:4] The importance of religion perhaps could be seen through the media where every day we have been watching and hearing about terrorism, which directly or indirectly has been linked to religious believers.
