Selaras dengan keutamaan Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Seri Beginda Sultan dan Yang Di Pertuan Negara Brunei Darussalam dalam menangani Pembangunan Kapasiti Manusia, Jabatan Tenaga di Jabatan Perdana Menteri dan agensi kerajaan yang berkaitan, serta dengan kerjasama Syarikat Syarikat operasi dan perkhidmatan industri minyak dan gas menganjurkan Pesta Kerjaya Sektor Minyak dan Gas 2013.

Tema Pesta Kerjaya Sektor Minyak Dan Gas 2013 ialah “Mengekalkan Peningkatan Pengambilan Perkerja Tempatan”. Tema ini selaras dengan matlamat dalam memastikan usaha dan fokus berterusan dalam pengambilan pekerja tempatan di industri minyak dan gas. Pesta ini adalah yang ketiga seumpamanya diadakan. Pesta-pesta kerjaya sebelumnya telah dapat menunjukan peningkatan di dalam pengambilan pekerja tempatan di industri ini yang mana, Alhamdullillah, seramai 1,302 orang telah di ambil bekerja pada tahun 2012 dan seramai 2,592 orang lagi pada tahun 2013. Pesta ini adalah salah satu dari berbagai cara sebagai pengantara untuk pertemuan di antara para majikan dan pencari kerja, dan seterusnya perolehan perkerjaan.

Antara aktiviti-aktiviti pesta kerjaya adalah potensi kerjaya, penulisan cv, tip-tip dalam menjalani temuduga, ‘walk-in interview’ dan karier kaunseling. Di samping itu pendaftaran juga di buka untuk pencari kerja dan untuk mereka yang berminat dalam mengikuti program-program ‘Energy Industry Competency Framework’ (EICF).

Lima puluh enam (56) agensi-agensi kerajaan, syarikat syarikat operasi minyak dan gas, serta syarikat syarikat perkhidmatan mereka menyertai pesta ini. Syarikat syarikat perkhidmatan di industri minyak dan gas ini menyediakan perkhidmatan yang di perlukan seperti logistik/marin, pembinaan dan membaik-pulih luar pantai, kejuruteraan telaga, penghasilan dan sokongan, teknologi maklumat dan perkhidmatan korporat/am. Kerjasama yang berterusan ini menunjukan sokongan dan komitmen semua dalam memastikan pembangunan berterusan sumber tenaga manusia didalam industri minyak dan gas Negara Brunei Darussalam dan seterusnya menyumbang didalam mencapai matlamat-matlamat di dalam Wawasan 2035.

Di Pesta Kerjaya Sektor Minyak dan Gas 2013, Jabatan Tenaga telah menetapkan sasaran jumlah pengambilan pekerja tempatan ke 3,000 orang bagi tahun 2014 di industry Minyak dan Gas. Sasaran ini adalah peningkatan dari pada sasaran pada tahun sebelumnya dan hanya akan tercapai melalui sokongan dan komitmen berterusan pihak industry didalam pengambilan pekerja tempatan melalui komitment LBD mereka, dan perantaraan dan pengawal selian berterusan Jabatan Tenaga.

LATAR BELAKANG

In line with the priority of the His Majesty The Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Negara Brunei Darussalam to address human capacity building, Energy Department at Prime Minister’s Office and other relevant government agencies in collaboration with major Oil & Gas Operators and their Service contractors is organizing the Oil And Gas Sector Job Fair 2013.

The theme for the Oil And Gas Sector Job Fair 2013 is “Sustaining Growth In Local Recruitment”. The theme is in line with the objective to ensure there is continuous effort and focus in recruiting locals in the Oil and Gas Industry. This is the third time that such a Job Fair is being organized. The previous two Job Fairs have shown a growing trend of local recruitments in this industry where, Praise to Allah, 1,302 and 2,592, locals recruited in 2012 and 2013, respectively. This fair will be one of the many platforms to facilitate the meeting of prospective employers and employees and subsequent employment.

Amongst the activities in the job fair are Potentials Careers, CV Writing, Interview Tips and Walk-In Interviews and demonstration of work relevant to some of the vacancies. Besides registration are also open for both jobseekers and those interested to enroll into ongoing Energy Industry Competency Framework (EICF) programs.

Fifty-Six (56) government agencies, oil and gas operators and their service contractors are participating in this fair. These service companies in the oil and gas industry provides the required services needed such as Logistics/Marine, Offshore Construction and Maintenance, Well Engineering, Production & Support, Information Technology and Corporate Services/General. This continuous collaboration reflects the support and commitment of all in ensuring a sustainable development of human resources in Brunei Darussalam’s Oil and Gas Industry and contributes toward achieving the objectives of Wawasan 2035 goals.

For the Oil & Gas Sector Job Fair 2013, Energy Department has set the target for 3,000 locals to be recruited in 2014 in the Oil and Gas Industry. This target is a step-up from previous year and is only achievable with continuous support and commitment of the industry on local recruitment via their LBD commitment, and continuous facilitation and regulation by the Energy Department.
