MATLAMAT (GOALS):

The aim of the subject is to equip the students with the knowledge, understanding of the concepts, principles, thermodynamics laws and its applications.

SINOPSIS (SYNOPSIS):

This course will cover the basic concepts of thermodynamics & energy transfer, properties engineering working fluid, the laws of thermodynamics, entropy, thermodynamics cycles and introduction to heat transfer.

HASIL PEMBELAJARAN (LEARNING OUTCOMES):

At the end of this course, the students are able:

(1) Analyze thermodynamics and energy transfer problems using appropriate concepts, principles, theories and formulas. (C4, LO11)(2) Explain the principles, theories and formulas related to the fundamental concepts of thermodynamics problems using appropriate techniques. TUGASAN / PROJEK (ASSIGNMENT / PROJECT):

(1) Tugasan akan diberikan secara individu dan berkumpulan.Untuk tugasan individu, pelajar-pelajar dikehendaki menjawab semua soalan yang diberikan mengikut topik. Penilaian dibuat berdasarkan kertas jawapan tugasan.

Assignment will be given individually and grouping. For individual assignment all students must answer all the assignment questions for each chapter. Project assessment will be done based on answer paper of the assignment.

(2) Tugasan berkumpulan pula diberikan kepada kumpulan pelajar tidak melebihi 5 orang berdasarkan tajuk yang telah ditetapkan. Penilaian adalah berdasarkan laporan tugasan yang disediakan kumpulan pelajar berkenaan.

KEHADIRAN / PERATURAN SEMASA KULIAH (ATTENDANCE / REGULATIONS DURING LECTURE)

1.Pelajar mesti hadir tidak kurang dari 80% masa pertemuan yang ditentukan bagi sesuatu kursus termasuk kursus Hadir Wajib (HW) dan kursus Hadir Sahaja (HS).Students must attend not less than 80% of the contact hours specified for a course including Compulsory Attendance (HW) course and Attendance Only (HS) course.

2.Pelajar yang tidak memenuhi perkara 1 di atas tidak dibenarkan menghadiri kuliah dan menduduki sebarang bentuk pentaksiran selanjutnya. Markah sifar 0 akan diberikan kepada pelajar yang gagal memenuhi perkara 1. Manakala untuk kursus HW, pelajar yang gagal memenuhi perkara 1 akan diberi gred Hadir Gagal (HG).Students who do not fulfill item 1 of the above are not allowed to attend further lecture and sit for any form of assessment. Zero 0 mark will be given to students who fail to comply with item 1. As for HW course, students who fail to comply with item 1 will be given Failure Attendance (HG) grade.

3. Tidak ada pengulangan, atau penambahan penilaian (ujian, kuiz dan peperiksaan) yang akan diberikan kepada pelajar-pelajar yang gagal hadir secara peribadi mana-mana penilaian yang telah diadakan pada tarikh dan masa yang ditetapkan .There is no repetition or additional assessment (tests, quizzes and exams) will be given to students who fail to attend personally any assessments held at predetermined date and time.

4.Pelajar perlu patuh kepada peraturan berpakaian yang berkuatkuasa dan menjaga disiplin diri masing-masing untuk mengelakkan dari tindakan tatatertib diambil terhadap pelajar.Students should adhere to the dress regulations in effect and must discipline themselves to avoid from any disciplinary actions.

5.Pelajar perlu mematuhi peraturan keselamatan sepanjang aktiviti pembelajaran dan pengajaran.Students should adhere to the safety regulations throughout the learning and teaching activities.
