“If   only I have the money to get that Iphone 4,”

said Rahim as he walked back home from school.

Rahim was a boy who was not born with a silver

spoon. His family was poor and he had 12 brothersand sisters excluding him. What was even worse, his

parents worked in a rubber estate. Every day, his

parents would wake up very early in the morning just

to bring home the bacon. Every time Rahim saw hisparents, he felt terrible because they had to work so

hard to put food on the table for his siblings and him.

One day, after Rahim had finished school, he saw

a van and two suspicious looking men. They came

out of the van and made a bee-line for the bushes

beside the road. Rahim quickly hid behind a tree.

After a few minutes, Rahim heard the van driving

away. He ran as fast as lightning to the bushes withthe hope of finding the thing that the men had

hidden. As he was doing so, he thought about those

two men. “Were they robbers?” he wondered.

Suddenly, he stepped on something and

fell to the ground. “Ouch!”  he said, “What’s

this? A bag?”  Then, he opened it and

exclaimed, “This is the luckiest day of my life!”

while jumping for joy. It was a bag filled with

money. He thought of taking it and pretendingthat nothing had happened. He thought of

purchasing the phone all his friends were

talking about and showing it off to them.

Suddenly, he remembered what his parents had

said to him. “Rahim, although we are poor, we must

be honest. What’s  not ours, we don’t  take. Okay?” Full of determination, he forced himself to give the

bag of money to the police even though he wanted it

so much. When he reached a nearby police station,

he explained everything he knew about the bag. Itturned out that both the suspicious men were

actually robbers. They had robbed a bank that

morning and were arrested after they hid the bag.

“Okay, thank you for finding the bag,” praised the

policeman. Rahim felt relieved because he had made

the correct choice. Later, he explained everything tohis class teacher who lived a mile away from his

house. His parents were both so proud and happy for

him.

The next day, the policemen came to his school

and told his principal about his brave act. He was

called by the principal and the principal praised him.

Rahim replied, “It was my parents who taught me tobe honest.”

 SAMPLE 3

It was dawn. The sun was hanging slightly above

the horizon. Rahim, a boy in his teens, was on hisway to school like any other student. Only one thing

was different; Rahim was a boy who was not born

with a silver spoon in his mouth. He did not enjoy

luxury in his life and this meant that he had to walkto school each day. On one particular day, while on

his way to his school, Rahim caught a glimpse of

something shiny in the bushes. He rushed over to

find out what it was.

Rahim was in complete shock when he found a

Gucci handbag that was made in Milan, Italy in the

bushes. He could not believe his eyes! He silentlythought to himself that this bag would belong to

someone who was filthy rich. AS expected, when he

rummaged through the contents of the bag, he

found lots of cold-hard cash. He looked around butthere was nobody to be seen. Suddenly, an

overwhelming sense of greed flooded through

Rahim’s  body and chilled him to the spine. Rahim

couldn’t fight the urge to keep the bag full of cash forhimself.

Then, he snuck in the handbag in his ownschoolbag and continued his journey to his school.En route to school, Rahim’s  conscience started

bugging him. He felt guilty and ashamed of the sin hewas committing. Ever since he was a young boy,Rahim’s parents had always taught him about karma.Whatever you do will bear a consequence like thesaying goes, ‘ you reap what you sow ‘. It was clear

to Rahim that he was making a grave mistake andGod would punish him for that in the future. Rahimdecided it was best to hand over the handbag to thepolice. He went to the nearest police station and meta kind-hearted policemen named Mr.Kamal whotook the handbag and promised Rahim he wouldfind its owner. Mr Kamal was also full of praise ofRahim’s virtous deeds.

After leaving the police station, Rahim went to

school. He was well aware that he was about a half

an hour late. On the way to his class, his thoughtswere all clouded up. Rahim was in a dilemma on

whether or not he should explain what had

happened earlier in the morning to his class teacher,

Mr. Abu. As Rahim was walking into his class, he wasconfronted by Mr. Abu on why he was late for school.

Rahim decided to tell him everything that had

happened without beating around the bush. Mr. Abu

understood the problem and did not punish Rahim

for being late for school.

incident that had occurred in the morning from his

mind but to no avail. During math class, Rahim was

First and foremost , the resort is a great family

resort. It is very affordable. There is a promotion

during this coming holiday. A suite for a family of fouronly costs RM 75 inclusive of breakfast. It is also  a

clean resort. There are many workers such as

gardeners, sweepers and housekeepers who take the

trouble to make sure the resort is spic and span  allthe time. Furthermore,  it is a very safe resort. It has

round the clock security and there are CCTVs

monitoring the area all the time.  Apart from that , it

is a cosy resort. It is not big, so there will not be toomany people around. Anyway, not many know of this

wonderful resort yet.
