MALAYSIA NEGERI SEMBILANThe name Negeri Sembilan literally means “Land of the Nine States”, a reference to the nine districts that used to make up the state. Its capital is Seremban while the royal town is Seri Menanti. Its ubiquitous Minangkabau cultural heritage dates back to the 15th century. It is the only state in Malaysia where the Adat Perpatih, a set of customs based on the ethnic group’s matrilineal social system, is practised to this day. The Minangkabau influence can also

be seen in the distinctive buffalo-horn-shaped roofs of many iconic buildings

throughout the state. With its laid-back ambience, varied landscapes and a vibrant mix of beaches, parks and attractions, Negeri Sembilan is a great choice for a relaxing getaway.
