understand the concept of magnetic field learn the formula for the force on a charge moving in a magnetic field use the equation F = qvB sin to define the magnetic field strength B
study the motion of a charged particle in a uniform magnetic field understand the working principles of a mass spectrometer
Set Induksi The introduction shows the magnetic field around a bar magnet, and the direction of a magnetic field as the direction shown by a compass. The magnetic field around the Earth is then shown.

Set Induksi Teacher shows video clip of a maglev train moving at a very high speed. Teacher asks students to explain how the maglev train is able to move at such a high speed.
Aktiviti Sources of magnetic field due to current. Students visualize and understand the magnetic field due to current in a straight wire, a circular loop and a solenoid. Students learn about the magnetic flux density, B around a straight wire,
at the centre of a wire loop, and in a solenoid.
Students learn and understand the force on a current-carrying conductor placed in a magnetic field, and the relationship between F, B and I. Students learn and understand the force between two current-carrying parallel wires
