Since the early 1980’s, Reliance Training Centre was established to train Tour Guides as part of the growth plan for Reliance Travel. Shortly thereafter, the student population quickly outgrew the training centre and demand for more substantial training products was required. In 1987, Reliance College was set up to meet this need.

With over 25 years of training and formal education experience, Reliance College is in the forefront of the Hospitality and Tourism education industry in Malaysia. Throughout the years, the college has noticed that the Hospitality and Tourism industry covers a wide span of industries under its wings. According to the World Tourism Organization, the Hospitality and Tourism industry provides 1 in every 11 jobs. In 2018, Malaysia alone accounted for over RM84.1 billion from tourist spending from over 25.8 million tourist arrivals.

Since 2013, Reliance College expanded out its reach to courses in Business Management and Event Management to cater to this diverse industry requirement. The college continues to believe that the Hospitality and Tourism industry is growing at a faster pace as the world population increases and there is a need to sustain the job demands for this quick growing industry.
