Seksyen- sekyen di dalam surat khabar turut diperkenalkan seperti national, world, entertainment dan lain-lain. Activity 1: Fun with Nouns Skill: Student correctly identifies proper and common nouns Review the definition of a noun with your class. (A noun is a person, place, animal or thing.) Pupils need to find 15 proper nouns and 15 common nouns. Activity 2: Newspaper treasure hunt For this activity you will need a pile of old newspapers, enough to distribute amongst teams of 4-5 students. Write a list of articles / words / pictures which the students need to find, and give teams a copy of the list. Tell them to cut out their 'treasures' and glue them next to the appropriate word in the list (or make a note of the page number). Possible list: A job advert Some good news Some bad news Reference to a famous political figure News about a celebrity Weather forecast News about a sport Story about another country Favourite news item Recipe Cartoon

Pada sesi yang pertama, para murid didedahkan kepada bahagian-bahagian tertentu di

dalam Surat Khabar Bahsa Inggeris seperti headlines, subheading, blurb, advertisement dan

lain-lain. Seksyen-sekyen di dalam surat khabar turut diperkenalkan seperti national, world,

entertainment dan lain-lain.

Activity 1: Fun with Nouns

Skill: Student correctly identifies proper and common nouns

Review the definition of a noun with your class. (A noun is a person, place, animal or thing.)

Activity 3: Picture Stories

Skill: Student organizes ideas and information for creative writing.

The goal is to use pictures from the paper to tell a story. This activity gives students a

chance to explore how photographs can tell stories. Have students look through the photos

in today's paper. Students then choose three photos and cut them out without captions.

They can paste each picture on a separate sheet of paper and staple the sheets together in

the order they will appear in the story. Finally, they should write out each story in the form of

captions below each picture.
