COURSEWORK ASSESSMENT MANUAL
1.0 INTRODUCTION
In line with the implementation of the teaching and learning of Science and Technology
subjects in English, the Curriculum Development Centre (CDC) introduced Information and
Communication Technology (ICT) as a subject in 2006.
This subject is offered as an elective subject to candidates who are taking the Sijil Pelajaran
Malaysia (SPM) examination.
The Malaysia Examinations Syndicate designed the assessment instruments based on the
syllabus released by the Curriculum Development Centre (CDC). The development of theseassessment instruments is based on the standard table of specification to maintain the
quality and standard, as well as the validity and the reliability of these test marks.
This coursework assessment document contains guidelines, procedures and assessment
forms for the implementation and assessment of the coursework to be carried at school
level.
2.0 GENERAL INFORMATION
2.1 The assessment of this subject will be administered through Central Based
Assessment (70) and School Based Assessment (30).
2.2 This coursework assessment document is for Paper 2 which carries 30 marks
and it is designed to assess the practical skills and values that cover all six
learning areas throughout the teaching and learning process.
2.3 Candidates are assessed using the Assessment Document and thecandidates must present evidence required by each aspect from the six
learning areas.
2.4 ICT coursework must be made known to all candidates when they are in
Form 4 because the assessment duration is from form 4 until form 5
(2 years).
