    Project Description:

    The San Juan bridge is built by the cast in-situ balanced cantilever method.

    The entire bridge was designed by BBR Construction Systems, including the design and fabrication of the formcarriers used in the construction.

    A construction cycle of 7 days for every two segments was made possible by the efficient design and simpleoperation of the form carrier.

    The two interchanges leading to the upgraded SungaiBesi was built using the precast segmental box sections,erected by the balanced cantilever method.

    The prestressed tendons used are BBR CONA BondedInternal System.

    The BBR CONA Bonded system utilizes 0.6 diameterstrands. The tendons are installed inside galvanisedducts, stressed and grouted with cement grout.

    Project Description:-

    The anchor span between the abutment and main pier isconstructed on heavy duty scaffoldings. Upon completionof hammerhead, form traveler is installed to cast the 4mlength segments over the main (river) span. Due to the

    low height of the two piers, the bridge was designed torest on pot bearings.

    Upon stressing of cantilever tendons, the top hungform traveler was advanced forward for the next casting.Typical cycle period is 7 days.
