MILAN: The recent visit of His Highness the PrimeMinister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabahto Italy has developed the two countries’ ties andcooperation, said Kuwaiti Ambassador to Italy SheikhAli Khaled Al-Jaber Al-Sabah yesterday. His Highness’second visit in a year is part of the ever-developingrelations between the two sides, Sheikh Ali told KUNA.

His Highness Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak’s meetingwith Italian President Sergio Mattarella and PrimeMinister Matteo Renzi in Rome resulted in agreeing onholding the first session of the joint Italian-Kuwaiticooperation committee on economy, investment, mili-tary and political cooperation, said the Ambassador.

Meanwhile, he noted that the two nations werealso strongly developing their cultural ties, citing thelaunch of the first ‘Art of the Islamic Civilization’ exhibi-tion organized by Kuwait’s Dar Al-Athar Al-Islamiyyah(DAI), as well as Kuwait’s pavilion at Expo Milano 2015as examples. He also mention the successful visit ofHis Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in 2010 which was a turning point inboosting bilateral ties on all levels.

Moreover, the Ambassador noted that His Highnessthe Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak and FirstDeputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign AffairsSheikh Sabah Al-Khaled both thanked the Italian gov-ernment for supporting Kuwait’s request to allowKuwaitis to enter Europe without visas. — KUNA

KUWAIT: The Ministry of Health (MoH) in collabo-ration with Directorate General of Civil Aviation(DGCA) and Kuwait Airways, initiated a campaignyesterday aimed at generating health awarenessamong Hajj pilgrims.

Head of the media office of the Ministry ofHealth Dr Ghalia Al-Mutairi said that that therewill be a designated pavilion for the campaign atKuwait International Airport. There, staff will offerpilgrims guidance as well as answer any ques-tions they may have.

Informative films will be screened at the air-port and leaflets will be given on board flightsheaded to the hallowed grounds of Makkah,Mutairi said. The campaign is a strategic attempt

to maintain the safety of Kuwaiti pilgrims as wellas meet demands of international health organi-zations on the importance of generating aware-ness among pilgrims on ways to avoid conta-gious diseases, Mutairi added.

The campaign will also ensure that pilgrimsmeet health guidelines issued by internationalhealth organizations in light of the imminentstart of the Hajj season. Mutairi also noted theimportance of adequate sleep in aiding pilgrimsin completing the often grueling Hajj, or pilgrim-age. KIB distributespilgrimage guide

KUWAIT: On the advent of the Hajj season and aspar t of its CSR leading program, KuwaitInternational Bank (KIB) distr ibuted the 3rdPilgrimage Guide for the 3rd year in a row, a book-let that was well received and appreciated in its 1stand 2nd editions by the bank’s customers generally,and the pilgrims in particular last year.

“We are very much pleased and honored tomeet with the pilgrims and present them this hum-ble gift ,” said Nawaf Najia, CorporateCommunications Unit Director, speaking on thisoccasion. “An initiative that stresses KIB keenness toplay a leading CSR role and share the pilgrims theirholy rituals,” he added.
