Hamamatsu Systems, Inc. (formerly RKB, Inc.), is a newly acquired subsidiary of the Hamamatsu Corp., headquartered in Middlesex, N.J. The company hopes to combine RKB's microprocessor technology and Hamam-atsu's video system experience and vidicon manufacturing capability to speed the production of precise video instruments for inspection, research and quality control. Hamamatsu Systems, Inc., will continue in the RKB location a t 5 Alfred Circle, Bedford, Mass.
Gelman Instrument Co. (600 South Wagner Rd., P.O. Box 1448, Ann Arbor, Mich.) has announced the formation of a new air analysis division.
Products manufactured and distributed by the new division include: Gel-man's line of glass fiber and membrane filters, specifically designed for air sampling analyses; an extensive selection of open and closed filter holders for atmospheric and in-line applications; and a new line of field monitors suited for personal and open sampling, or at tached to a cyclone sampling apparatus. In addition, Gelman will distribute a particle analyzer which is designed to count particles in the size range of 0.5-400 μιη.
The International Conference on Modern Trends in Activation Analysis has been held in Texas (1961 and 1965), Washington (1968), Paris (1972), and Munich (1976). The 1980 meeting will deal with original recent work on techniques and applications of activation analysis in many areas of science, technology, and medicine. A commercial exhibition will also be held concurrently with the conference. The choice of a site for the conference will be made early in 1978. Organiza

Robert S. First, Inc., has just completed "A Comprehensive Directory of Independent Non-Hospital Clinical Laboratories in the United States". Information provided in the directory includes: name, address, and telephone number of laboratory; name of laboratory director; ownership of laboratory; classification as independent, chain, group practice, etc.; number of employees; number of tests run annually; and types of tests done, such as clinical chemistry, RIA, hematology, microbiology, etc. The directory can be purchased from Robert S.
