Inanam is a busy town located about 20-minute drive from Kota Kinabalu. Its main attraction is its waterfall at Kionsom. Located 10 kilometres north of Inanam town, the waterfalls stands 13 metres high, dropping into a deep pool. The water originates from the top of Bukit Kionsom and falls down the rocks into the small pool below. This scene is nice and peaceful.
The Kionsom Waterfalls is a popular picnic spot. Families sitting on the rocks having their picnic lunch is a common sight at the waterfalls. They enjoy eating and chatting while playing with the cool water.
For those who want to stay overnight, there are chalets and campsites. Food is not a problem as Malay, Chinese and Western restaurants are available.
The place can be very busy especially during weekends and public holidays. It is also a popular stopover for local and foreign tourists on their way to Kota Belud, where the famous tamu is held every weekend .
