Product Description TIGER Drylac Series 58® is a highly UV andweather resistant powder coating forarchitectural aluminum, based on TGIC-FreeSuper Durable Polyester, which meets AAMA2604-05, GSB and Qualicoat Class 2Specifications. Due to our (up to 25 year)warranty for this product line, warranty canonly be offered when coating is applied by aTIGER Drylac® Approved Applicator.A current listing of Approved Applicators is available.

Pretreatment Requirements A 5-stage pretreatment is highly recommended. Chromating according to ASTM B 449,Anodizing according to AAMA 2603-02 Quality and Test Regulations or Chrome-freepretreat ment according to AAMA 2604-05 are acceptable methods.

General Conditions Under normal circumstances a single coat of Series 58 powder coating is sufficient.Powder Coating must be applied over clean dry substrates, free of contamination and oxidation.

Cure Parameters

Special Applications — In highly corrosive conditions, such as found in coastal regions (salt, fog) or industrial TIGER Shield System atmospheres, a 2-coat system of TIGER Drylac® Dryprotector Primer 69/70000 plus a

topcoat of Series 58 is highly recommended. Both products are engineered tocomplement each other and offer an excellent corrosion barrier. This 2-coat systemwarrants an optimum non-porous film, as well as excellent UV protection through theuse of highest quality TGIC-Free Super Durable powder coatings. Base coat must beapplied over a clean dry substrate, free of contaminates and oxidation. Note: Timelapse between application of Dryprotector Primer and Series 58 topcoat must notexceed 12 hours.

Theoretic Coverage The Specific Gravity of 69/70000 Dryprotective Primer is 1.6 ± 0.1g/cm3. The TIGERShield system (primer plus top coat) is normally applied between 4.0 and 5.0 mils / 90-125 microns. For more information see datasheet No. 1072.

Remaining Gloss vs. Months

*The remaining gloss values that can be expected vary dependingon the original gloss level and color. A reasonable degree of loss of gloss and color variation due tolong-term UV exposure can be expected.

Note Post-bending properties of any part must beverified prior to application, as minor cracks in thecoated surface may lead to corrosion. Jointsealants and any other auxiliary products, such asglazing aids, gliding waxes, drilling and cuttinglubricants, which come in contact with the coatedsurface must be ph-neutral and free of substanceswhich may damage the finish. Prior to coating, asuitability test at the applicator is therefore highlyrecommended.

Performance Checked under laboratory conditions on a yellowData on chromated aluminum test panel, which is 0.7 Aluminum (mm) thick. Actual product performance may vary

due to product specific properties such as gloss, color, effect and finish as well as applicationrelated and environmental influences.
