perasaan kegagalan dan kelesuan akibat tuntutan yang
terlalu membebankan ke atas tenaga, sumber-sumber
atau ketabahan seseorang.

Farber, (1984) mengatakan bahawa burnout sebagai
pilihan terakhir (akibat) apabila satu siri percubaan
untuk menangani tekanan negatif, gagal mencapai
matlamatnya.

Punca-punca Burnout Guru
•Disebabkan oleh stres yang dihadapi dalam satu tempoh masa yang panjang•Kurang/tiada pengiktirafan/ganjaran •Tekanan kerja melebihi sumber sedia ada untuk menangani kehendak yang pelbagai – pelajar, ibu bapa, pentadbir, kaunselor dan rakan sekerja•Bagi guru novis - kurang budaya mentor / bimbingan daripada guru berpengalaman•Sedikit/tiada kawalan terhadap tugas•Ekspektasi tugas yang kabur/terlalu menekan•Tugas/kerja membosankan/tidak mencabar•Suasana kerja yang tidak bersistem

1. Stop feeling guilty. Don’t try to be perfect and stop worrying about others.
2. Learn to say no. This is probably the most sensible thing you can do. You cannot change the world. Learn to go for a walk or practise relaxation techniques.
3. Watch your diet. Make sure you have a good breakfast and well-balanced meals.

4. Be your friend. Make sure you know that you are someone important and that there are people who love you.
5. Exercise. The chemicals produced through exercise will do wonders.
6. Manage time. Plan your time so you are not always in a rush.
7. Not your problem. See it as their problem not yours.
8. Learn to laugh. They say that laughing relaxes the muscles so why not try it.
