Applicants hoping to receive funding for their feasibility study are expected to ~reate a new

o Step 1 Register as a Friends of SATREPS member httpsllfosjstgojp
bull The Principallnvestigator (Pl) must register for Friends of SATREPS to become a mem er
bull The PI must be younger than 45
The PI must be affiliated with a Japanese research institution conducting research lctivities focusing on public
benefit and must be able to accept external funding for research
o Step 2 Create a new Friends of SATREPS community bull Create a community involving associates who are researchers in eJigible counterpa countries The aim is to
make a successful application for a Young Research Team Feasibility Study
bull Give the community a name that begins with FS and submit the application to the se Tetariat
bull When the community is approved a JST representative will apply to join the community using a special JST
account Pleas approve that application Approving that application is considered a dec Iarati on of intent to make a
feasibility study application
o Step 3 Discuss project formation bull Start work on designing the proj ect you hope to form Heview committee olnvit or solicit additional collaborative research group members to build up the I onitors the progress

Funding for the FeasibUlty Studies is provided independently by JST using Contract Re earch Agreements There is no ODA funding available for these studies Consequently JICA 1 not involved in nmding and Des not need to be party to any agreements
This solicitation of proposals for feasibility studies uses a non-co ventional approach
Applicants hoping to receive funding for their feasibility study are expected to ~reate a new
community on the FrieDds of SATREPS online community site assemble a group of
collaborative researchers interested in forming a new SATREPS pnl ject and use the new
community as a venue for the group to discuss project formation Afh r discussion proposal

The PI must be affiliated with a Japanese research institution conducting research lctivities focusing on public
benefit and must be able to accept external funding for research
o Step 2 Create a new Friends of SATREPS community bull Create a community involving associates who are researchers in eJigible counterpa countries The aim is to
make a successful application for a Young Research Team Feasibility Study
bull Give the community a name that begins with FS and submit the application to the se Tetariat
bull When the community is approved a JST representative will apply to join the community using a special JST
