1. STUDENTS PERFORMANCE REPORT BASED ON CONSTRUCT(STRENGTH, WEEKNESSESS AND ERRORS)

1.1. Give appropriate responses/Converse on a topic effectively:

a) Strengths. Adequate understanding of topic but with limited ability to

sustain a conversation. Ability to catch and maintain audience-interest throughout

presentation.

b) Weaknesses. Inability to interact/hold a discussion/hold a conversation Inability to arouse interest of the audience.

c) Errors. Wrong topic Wrong discussion

1.2 Speak fluently using correct and acceptable pronunciation:

d) Strength. Fairly fluent and clear speech with frequent and long pause.

e) Weaknesses. Fluency is interrupted by consistent halting and long pauses. Minimal or no utterance

1.4 Speak the language using a wide range of appropriate vocabulary within context:

j) Strength. Good range of vocabulary with some interesting expressions. Accurate and clear language used most of the time with some

slips that do not disrupt meaning.

k) Weaknesses. Limited range of vocabulary Frequent use of inappropriate vocabulary which distort

meaning Minimal use of language Able to perform only limited language functions in context.

1.5 Speak using correct grammar:

m) Strengths: Proficient candidates had no problem with these two aspects. Most of

them we able to speak and converse using grammatically correct sentences.

n) Weaknesses Weak candidates mainly resorted simple or compound sentences to

play safe as they have no confidence in using more complex structures. They made a lot of grammar errors which affect the flow of the ideas.

3. COMMENT ON INSTRUMENT/MODEL

3.1 Model been used for students: The students used Narrating and Giving description for Model 1 & 2 in

their form 4 assessment while Role-Playing as their activity for Model 3 in their form 5 assessment.

3.2 Suitability of model to students. Most of the models suited with the level of students’ proficiency in

this school. Most of the students were able to complete the task.

4 ADVISE TO CANDIDATES Candidates should be more creative in carrying out their task. English teachers always stress on the importance of English, especially

in this global era and for science subjects. Students were also encouraged to interact among themselves in the language.

5 ADVISE TO TEACHER Comprehensive evaluation, which consists of teacher evaluation

especially in speaking. Teacher role as advisor, reader and resource person for the students. As for the students, when they evaluate the others’ work, it provide every speaker with real speaker, enable students to learn different speaking and listening strategies from one another and focus more on speaking and listening aspects.
