1. Project title: Determination of neutron beam quality and evaluation of image quality (neutron
radiography technique). Researcher: Dr. Wan Muhamad Saridan bin Wan Hassan, PM. Dr.
Manan Munhamad Jaib, Dr. Azali Mohammad (MINT), Dr. Abdul Aziz Mohamed (MINT).
Objektif: (1) Mendapatkan/mengukur parameter penting radiografi neutron mengikut piawai
‘ASTM E 545-91 Standard method for determining image quality in direct thermal neutron
radiographic examination’ dan ‘ASTM E 803-91 Standard method for determining the L/D
ratio of neutron radiography beams’. Ini termasuk menggunakan microdensitometry untuk
penentuan parameter tersebut. (2) Mendapatkan ciri-ciri large area transfer (via H&D curve),
resolution (via modulation transfer function), and noise (via noise power spectrum).
Microdensitometry dan image processing perlu digunakan untuk menentukan ciri-ciri ini. (3)
Mengkaji kesan neutron terserak terhadap parameter di atas yang berkaitan. Sponsor: MINT.
