Our Profile and Capability Eco Ideal Consulting Sdn. Bhd (Eco-Ideal) is a wholly Malaysian owned private limited company incorporated in Malaysia under the Companies Act 1965 on 17 July 2003. It was established in response to the increasing needs for innovative and professional environmental consultancies worldwide. We provide a full range of integrated environmental planning and consulting services to our private and public sector clients, including industries and government agencies facing challenges that demand environmental experience and technical expertise. Despite the challenging economic cycles of the past decade, we continue to grow at a rapid pace. Since 2006, we have expanded and currently have operations in both East and West Malaysia. With our offices strategically located in Kuala Lumpur and Kuching, we are able to provide our clients with services delivered on time while paying close attention to details and maintaining the quality of work which is the hallmark of our reputation. To date, we have total staff strength of 15 and are headed by Engr. Soon Hun Yang (Chief Executive Officer) and Ir. Soon Choon Huie (Managing Director). Our team consists of well qualified environmental managers, engineers, executives, IT specialists and supporting staff. With wide experience and knowledge in the environmental field, we are intent on satisfying our clients to the best of our ability. To strengthen further our multi-disciplinary make up, our company also works closely with a group of international and Malaysian based associates. Eco-Ideal has also incorporated a subsidiary company, Eco-Ideal Systems (Co. No. 65951) on December 2003 (http://www.ecoideal.com.my/ecoisys ). It is principally involved in provision of solutions on data and information management and also supplying other information technology products. It is the exclusive and sole distributor of GeoEnviron Environmental Information System in South Pacific Region.

Our Directors

Managing Director Ir. Soon Choon Huie is the Managing Director of the Company. He graduated from the University of New South Wales, Australia in 1969 with a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil). As a professional civil engineer, he is involved in many civil and structural engineering projects. He has more than 43 years of working experience and a vast knowledge in project management and administration from holding various senior management positions in the public (utility sector) and private sectors.

Director/Chief Executive Officer Engr. Soon Hun Yang is the Chief Executive Officer / Director of the Company. He holds a Master of Science in Environmental Management and Policy from the International Institute for Industrial Environmental Economics, Lund University, Sweden, and a Bachelor of Technology in Environmental Engineering from Massey University, New Zealand. He has more than 14 years of environmental and technical experience in environmental related projects and project management through his involvement in various tasks both in the public and private sectors. He is one of the pioneer CDM consultants in the region.

1. Bukit Tagar Sanitary Landfill Gas Recovery and Utilisation (2008 – Ongoing) – successes in 1.2 MW application and implementation from 2010 until present. Our project management scope of work includes biogas pre-treatment, power generation and grid connections. In addition, we provide assistance in Power Purchase Agreement (REPPA) application.

2. 3.2 MW grid connection power generation project from Bukit Tagar Landfill Gas – assistance in planning and documentation towards successful FiT application in Dec 2011.

Renewable energy projects involving CDM development: 1. PoA development for POME Biogas and Power Generation in Malaysia and Indonesia. (Ongoing) 2. CDM monitoring services for Konzen Clean Energy SB’s Rinwood POME biogas projects in

Mukah, Sarawak (2011- on-going). 3. CDM project development for POME methane recovery and utilisation at QL Palm Oil Mill No.1

We securitized proposals and facilitated discussion with technology providers on customising the technology needed by the client. The project was successfully registered with the CDM Executive Board in October 2010. We are currently providing the CDM monitoring and biogas system performance monitoring for the project.

6. One-stop services for Bukit Tagar Landfill Gas Recovery and Utilisation Project – including feasibility assessment, PDD development, validation and registration. First issuance of CERs (first landfill to have CER issued in Malaysia) obtained on 3 May 2011. Second issuance on 4 November 2011. Our project management scope of work includes biogas pre-treatment, power generation, grid connections and feed in tariff applications.
