1. The population distribution of an organism is influenced by the changes in the biotic and abiotic factors. A group of students carried out an investigation to study how biotic factor such as food availability affects the population of garden snail in different school area using the method of capture, mark, release and recapture technique .Penyebaran populasi organisma dipengaruhi oleh perubahan faktor-faktor biotik dan abiotik. Sekumpulan pelajar telah menjalankan kajian mengkaji kesan faktor biotik seperti bekalan makanan ke atas populasi siput babi dalam dua kawasan sekolah yang berbeza dengan menggunakan kaedah tangkap, tanda, lepas dan tangkap semula .
These were the steps that has been carried out.Berikut adalah antara langkah-langkah yang telah dijalankan .
Step 1 : An area of study with 2500m2 in the school field and school garden are selected.Satu kawasan kajian seluas 2500m2 di kawasan padang dan kebun sekolah dikenalpasti.
Step 2: Garden snails are captured randomly from each site and the number of garden snails captured is recorded.Sejumlah siput babi telah ditangkap secara rawak dari kedua-dua kawasan dan dicatatkan bilangannya.
Step 3 : Garden snails that have been captured are marked with a small dot of Indian ink on their shell and released into the same location where they were found.Siput babi yang telah ditangkap, ditanda sedikit dengan dakwat India di atas cengkerangnya dan kemudiannya dilepaskan semula ke dalam habitat asal.
Step 4 : After 4 days, a second captured is made at random from the same study area.Selepas 4 hari, tangkapan kedua dibuat secara rawak dari kawasan kajian yang sama .
Step 5 : The total number of garden snails and the number of marked garden snails are recorded.Jumlah bilangan siput babi dan bilangan siput babi yang bertanda dalam tangkapan kedua direkodkan.

2. Siti washed the windows and floor of her house every morning. However, she observed that in the afternoon, the windows and floor are always covered with a layer of dust particles. Her house is located nearby an industrial factory which is 0.6 km away from her house. Thick dark smoke is always being emitted from the factory chimney. There is no complaint from her friend house which is located 5 km away from Siti house.
Described how a group of students can plan a simple experiment to estimate the level of air pollution in that area.
The planning of the investigation should cover the following aspects:
Setiap pagi Siti mengelap tingkap dan lantai rumahnya. Tetapi, pada waktu petang, dia mendapati tingkap dan lantai rumahnya sentiasa diliputi dengan lapisan habuk. Rumah Siti terletak berdekatan dengan satu kawasan kilang perindustrian yang terletak lebih kurang 0.6 km dari rumahnya. Asap tebal yang gelap sentiasa dikeluarkan dari cerobong asap kilang perindustrian tersebut. Tiada sebarang rungutan kedengaran dari rakannya yang rumahnya terletak 5 km dari rumah Siti.
Terangkan bagaimana sekumpulan pelajar boleh merancang satu eksperimen yang ringkas untuk menganggar tahap pencemaran udara bagi kawasan tersebut.
