Surah al-’Alaq (The Clot)

�� ح�يم الر� ح�من� الر� الله� � م ��س ب

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful


"ق" ل خ" �ذ�ي ال )ك" ب ر" � م ��اس ب� أ اق�ر"

[96:1] Read in the name of your Lord Who created.


"ق. ع"ل �م�ن ان" �نس" �اإل خ"ل"ق"

[96:2] He created man from a clot.


م4 �ر" ك" �األ 8ك" ب و"ر"

� أ اق�ر"

[96:3] Read and your Lord is Most Honorable,


� "م �ق"ل �ال ب �م" ع"ل �ذ�ي ال

[96:4] Who taught (to write) with the pen


�"م "ع�ل ي �"م ل م"ا ان" �نس" �اإل �م" ع"ل

[96:5] Taught man what he knew not.


"ط�غ"ى "ي ل ان" �نس" �اإل �ن� إ "ال� ك

[96:6] Nay! man is most surely inordinate,


"غ�ن"ى ت �اس آه4 ر� "ن أ

[96:7] Because he sees himself free from want.


ج�ع"ى الر8 )ك" ب ر" �ل"ى إ �ن� إ

[96:8] Surely to your Lord is the return.


�ه"ى "ن ي �ذ�ي ال �ت" "ي أ ر"" أ

[96:9] Have you seen him who forbids


ص"ل�ى �ذ"ا إ �دKا ع"ب

[96:10] A servant when he prays?


�ه4د"ى ال ع"ل"ى "ان" ك �ن إ �ت" "ي أ ر"" أ

[96:11] Have you considered if he were on the right way,


�ق�و"ى �الت ب م"ر"" أ �و

" أ

[96:12] Or enjoined guarding (against evil)?


"و"ل�ى و"ت "ذ�ب" ك �ن إ �ت" "ي أ ر"" أ

[96:13] Have you considered if he gives the lie to the truth and turns (his) back?


"ر"ى ي �ه" الل ن�" �أ ب �"م "ع�ل ي �"م "ل أ

[96:14] Does he not know that Allah does see?


"ة� �اص�ي �الن ب ف"عKا �"س "ن ل "ه� "نت ي ��م ل �ن "ئ ل "ال� ك

[96:15] Nay! if he desist not, We would certainly smite his forehead,


"ة. خ"اط�ئ "ة. "اذ�ب ك "ة. "اص�ي ن

[96:16] A lying, sinful forehead.


"ه "اد�ي ن "د�ع4 �ي ف"ل

[96:17] Then let him summon his council,


"ة" �ي "ان ب الز� "د�ع4 ن س"

[96:18] We too would summon the braves of the army.


�"ر�ب و"اق�ت �ج4د �و"اس 4ط�ع�ه4 ت ال" "ال� """""""""""""" ك "

[96:19] Nay! obey him not, and make obeisance and draw nigh (to Allah). (mandatory prostration)
