Today, when EU economies are facing a connuous transion to a moretechnology intensive model, key competences in science and technology(S&T) are essenal to develop the economic and social model of the future. However, according to several EU studies, pupils in secondary level educaonhave low aspiraons towards scienc and technological careers.

To overcome this situaon, STIMULA aims to develop innovave

methodologies to foster aspiraons towards S&T careers among pupils insecondary level educaon, using as a strategy the acve involvement of theworld of work (universies, research & innovaon centres, and research &development companies) in educaonal acvies. The focus of the projectwill be on designing, implemenng and validang new educaonal iniavesthat will generate posive outcomes relang to the project’s aims. Theseiniaves include:

A pedagogical S&T guideline for inial teacher educaon, whereinnovave ways to approach more movang S&T teaching will beprovided.

A guideline for bringing S&T closer to teachers, to provide current

and future teachers with strategies to bring the world of S&T tothemselves and their pupils.

A S&T cooperaon guideline for schools, with a focus on developingacvies for schools to strengthen their relaonships with the worldof work.

Diverse curriculum extending iniaves, aimed at fosteringaspiraons among pupils towards S&T careers.

These project iniaves are expected to contribute to:

Pupils receiving a more praccal and movang educaon in S&T.

Teachers implemenng beer strategies to foster movaontowards the study of S&T.

The gap between schools and the world of work by establishingmodels for networking.

The ulmate goal of these iniaves is to improve the acquision of keycompetences in S&T by pupils, therefore contribung to their personaldevelopment and future employment.
