The experiments in this manual are designed in accordance with the Edexcel Advanced GCE in Chemistry Specifi cation. An important feature of this manual is that it enables students to work more effectively on their own and at their own pace. This is refl ected in the way in which the procedures for the experiments are written. The style is personal and direct and the instruction is far more detailed and precise than is usually the case in practical manual. It is not intended that students be left unsupervised while they do practical work. Rather, it is envisaged that a single lecturer will be better able to supervise a group of students while they are doing the experiments.

Seminar Politik Malaysia yang bertemakan Landskap Politik Malaysia Pasca Pilihan Raya ke-12 adalah anjuran Universiti Teknologi MARA Sabah dan In-stitut Kualiti dan Pengembangan Ilmu, Universiti Teknologi MARA. Idea untuk menganjurkan Seminar ini tercetus apabila pihak penganjur berasa bahawa Pilihan Raya Umum ke-12 yang diadakan pada 8 Mac 2008 telah meninggalkan kesan yang mendalam dan mencipta sejarah baru dalam politik Malaysia.

Buku ini ditulis dengan tujuan untuk memantapkan lagi ilmu pengorganisasian yang telah dipraktiskan oleh generasi yang cemerlang di awal Islam. This book provides a synopsis of technology usage (i.e. intranet and electronic data interchange (ED I)) in Malaysian port industry. As the issue of IT management is to some extent crucial, the issues of user resistance, user satisfaction, usage, absenteeism, and withdrawal ought to be contemplated by decision makers for the continuation of the company’s good performance. This book discusses the interactive, multi-dimensional and comprehensive information technology (IT) management diagnostic tool, called the technology improved usage model (TECHPROVED MODEL). The TECHPROVED model is a combination of various IT management models, such as the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) (Davis, 1989), the Task-Technology Fit (TTF) (Goodhue and Thompson, 1995), DeLone and McLane IS Successful Model (1992), and three theories of resistance (Markus, 1983).

This book looks into the industrial training program and learning from the students’ perspective. The purpose of the book was to determine factors for an effective industrial training program, and to what extent was the training effective from the trainees’ perspectives after they had completed the training, and also to what extent was the learning effective with respect to learning outcomes of the training. The articles discussed in the book try to resuscitate both the history of economic dynamism in the East and the vital role of the East in the rise of the West. The West has allegedly enjoyed being portrayed as very progressive and in contrast the East was regarded as forever inferior. This argument formed the basis of the discussion in all of the papers presented in the book. Furthermore there are not many writings on the contribution of the Malay world to the West as compared to the Arabian world and the Chinese civilization to the West. In addition, the paper presented in this book also seeks to show how the Malay world has contributed highly to the western world in terms of ideas, knowledge, trade and material wealth from the East.

This book consists of three distinct types of processes i.e. preparation processes, coloration processes and finishing processes. It is defined as any finishing treatments which are applied on textile materials in liquid form and involves form of chemical action on the textiles. The manual is arranged in two parts i.e. preparation and coloration. The accompanying contribution of this manual is mainly to introduce the students to the textile finishing processes and give them practical experiences in handling real treatments similar to the processes being carried out in textile finishing industry.

ANRAP (Asian Network of Research on Antidiabetic Plants) has made tremendous contribution to the progress of antidiabetic research in Bangladesh, India and Pakistan while the Malaysian Natural Products Society had been instrumental in the development of research in natural products chemistry in Malaysia.

This book presented some scholastic views regarding online journalism in Malaysia and how it had affected Malaysia’s socio-political landscape. The principal idea highlighted is that online journalism has changed the philosophy of journalism. Communication between editor and audience is no more describe as one-way downward pattern, but instead also upward and horizontal, meaning audience could now communicate with editor and interact among other audience. Within such environment, the truth can be challenged and the source could also stand as journalist.

This manuscript is intended to provide quick-referencing for image evaluation criteria of the basic projections for the conventional radiography of the musculoskeletal system. The fi rst part of the manuscript will focus on the technical factors and physical principles affecting the radiographic images of the conventional projection radiography. In the subsequent part, emphasis is given on the quality criteria used to evaluate radiographs of the skeletal system, skull, abdominal and respiratory system for technical quality and diagnostic acceptability, indicating when appropriate, how to correct or improve the quality of the image for radiographs of less than optimal quality for the above stated areas.

The central theme of the lecture revolves around the post-westphalian model of international law, its impact in Europe and the rest of the world, in particular Asia and Africa. While it is true that the landscape of international law is Euro-centric, the contemporary international community however, would have to seek a new perspective to international law to fi ll in the vacuum which the westphalian model has failed to address. With regards to the needs of the present where more than half of the membership is in the United Nations, it is only apt that they contribute to the development of the international law.
