Menjelaskan fungsi perisian komputer setempat dan rangkaian. 4. Mengguna internet untuk tujuan penyelidikan dan komunikasi. 5. Menghasilkan dokumen dengan mengguna perisian pemproses kata, melakukan analisis

menggunakan perisian lembaran kerja dan perisian pangkalan data, dan membuat pembentangan dengan menggunakan perisian persembahan.

6. Menjelaskan isu kesahihan, sosial dan etika berkaitan teknologi maklumat dan komunikasi.

At the end of the course, students will be able to:

1. Describe the concept of IT and its usage in everyday life 2. Explain the function of local computer hardware and network 3. Explain the function of local computer software and network 4. Use the internet for the purpose of research and communication 5. Create documents using word processor software, analyzing using spreadsheet and

2.0 Sinopsis/Synopsis Memperkenalkan konsep asas Teknologi Maklumat dan Komunikasi serta komponennya dan alat yang digunakan untuk mengumpul, memproses, menjana, menyimpan, mencapai dan menyebar maklumat dalam bentuk digital. Antara kandungannya ialah era maklumat: takrifan, penggunaan TM dalam kehidupan, senario perkembangan TM terkini terutamanya di Malaysia. Internet. Perkakasan komputer: CPU, ingatan, input/output, storan sekunder. Perisian komputer: Sistem pengendalian, perisian utiliti, bahasa pengaturcaraan, perisian aplikasi. Rangkaian. Komputer-maklumat: pembangunan sistem maklumat, jenis sistem maklumat. Isu-isu: etika, keselamatan, kesihatan, sosial, dan perkembangan TM masa hadapan. This course introduces the basic concept of Information Technology (IT) and communication, components and tools used in collecting, processing, generating, storing, accesing and distributing digital information. Among its contents are : definition, the use of IT in life, the development of IT especially in Malaysia, Internet; computer hardware : CPU, memory, input/output, secondary storage; Computer software : operating systems, utility software, programming language, application software; Network; computer- information : development of information systems; types of information systems; issues : Ethics, security, health, social and the future development of IT. 3.0 Rujukan/References
