'This problem has been going on for years. Jbelieve this happens everywhere, but the situ-ation in Seri Kembangan is deplorable.

"Although Alam Flora workers clean thearea, the problem persists.

"Each hawker has to manage the waste him-self, instead of dumping it elsewhere.Enforcement officers will be stationed there tocatch.the culprits," he said.

A check by StarMetro revealed that rubbishwas thrown outside the compound of the SeriKembangan multipurpose hall and into thedrains.

Rubbi$ was also strewn around a sign pro-hibiting illega.ldumping.

Shopowner yauKim Boi, who has beendoing business in the area for the p~st 3)

"Theproblem has been goingon for almost I10 years, after the number of traders in the Imarket increased.

"Althoughthe Alam Floraworkers come to fclean the area every morning, some hawkers Iwill dump their rubbish after the morning Imarket closes, dirtying the place again," she Isaid.

She noticed that some traders who soldfood!would pour the excess soup into the drains. I-Aside from the stench, she is also worriedthat the unhygenic conditionwould affectthe Ihealth ofresidents. I

"Of late, there are many mosquitoes and I'm Iusing'two fans to keep them away."
