Liz : No, Mum. The prizes are for the children in the hospital. They need

cheering up. We are having a party in the childrens ward.

Mrs. Lau : Oh, I thought that it was a class party at school. Im certain that the

children will have a good time. You all had a party there last year too,

didnt you?

Liz : Yes, we did, but this years party is going to be better.

Mrs. Lau : But why is it necessary to have prizes? You meant presents didnt

you?

Liz : No, Mum. Its prizes. Well, last year we gave out presents to each child

but this year we thought we would call them prizes instead. The

children must win their prizes. It will be more fun. We want each child

to be a winner!

Mrs. Lau : What a wonderful idea! The children are ill, arent they? They cant run,

jump or chase each other. So, how do you expect them to win prizes?

Liz : It wont be necessary for them to go out of their beds. All they will do isto be happy and smile when we sing to them and tell them stories.
