UNDER THE SUEZ CANAL PROJECT

Greetings from the Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy of Egypt in Kuala

Lumpur.

I have the pleasure to inform you that in view of the Egyptian Government’s strategy to

develop Sinai Peninsula, the Egyptian Ministry of Transport, National Authority For

Tunnels (NAT) has introduced new projects (both governmental and private

investments) for the next fifteen years. One of the projects is to construct two vehicle

tunnels (each with two lanes) and a third tunnel for railway. The tunnels will form a

safe, high quality, high speed link to the International Coastal Express Highway from

North Africa to Asia via the Sinai Peninsula.

NAT has signed a contract for carrying out the feasibility study and tender documents

with the Spanish consulting office paymacotas – Getinsa. The said project will create

new opportunities for investments in Egypt especially in Sinai.

project description and the status of the feasibility study and tender documents for your

kind perusal and consideration of participation.
