    A student carries out an experiment to investigate the relationship between the refractive index ,

    nand the refracted angle, r.

    The experiment begin with puts a perspeks block on a plane paper. This perspeks block has

    refrective index, n 1.49. A outline is drawn around with a sharp pencil. The pespeks block

    shifted out from the plane paper and normal line is drawn at the centre of the long flat surface.

    The block is puts again on the plane paper and in that outline. Turned on the light source and itadjusted to produce a single and thin beam of light incident on the perspeks block. This incident

    beam is directed to A at 300. A point along the incident beam , the point where it intersects the

    perspeks block and the point where it leaves the perspeks block and re-enters the air are marked

    with cross x. The perspeks block shifted out from the plane paper again. Join the marks as shown

    on Diagram 1.0. The refracted angle are measured using a protactor.

    The experiment is repeated with using another transparent materials blocks like crown glass,

    zicron, diamond, rutile and gallium phosphide with same incident angle of perspeks block. Their

    refracted index are 1.52, 1.92, 2.42, 2.91 and 3.50respectively. Each refracted angle can found

    from Diagram 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5 and 1.6 on page 5, 6 and 7.

    Seorang pelajar menjalankan satu eksperimen untuk mengkaji hubungan antara indeks biasan ,

    n dengan sudut biasan , r.

    Eksperimen dimulakan dengan meletakkan sebuah bongkah perspeks di atas sekeping kertas

    putih. Bongkah perspeks ini mempunyai indeks biasan 1.49. Garisluar dilukiskan di keliling

    bongkah perspeks tersebut dengan pensil yang tajam. Bongkah perspeks tersebut dialihkan dan

    garis normal dilukiskan dibahagian tengah satah sisi yang panjang. Bongkah perspeks

    diletakkan semula di atas kertas putih di dalam petak yang dilukiskan. Kotak sinar dihidupkan

    dan dilaraskan hingga mendapat sinar tuju halus dan tunggal. Sinar ini dihalakan ke A pada

    sudut 300. Alur cahaya yang merambat dari kotak sinar dan keluar daripada bongkah perspeks

    setelah terbias ditandakan pangkah x dengan pensil.Bongkah perspeks dialihkan dan garis lurus

    dilukiskan di atas kertas putih dengan menyambungkan pangkah-pangkah yang diplotkan

    seperti dalam Rajah 1.0. Sudut biasan, r diukur dengan menggunakan protaktor.

    Eksperimen ini diulangi dengan menggunakan bongkah-bongkah lutsinar seperti crown glass,

    3 A boy pushes the boxes along a level walkway as shown in Diagram 3.1 The boy experiences
