communication in all aspects of life. Human beings are said to be thinking and

cultured as having language. With bahasalah man can think and express something to

others. Furthermore, because human thought and culture, human beings different

from animals. Animals can not think and cultured as human beings because they do

    not have language.

One aspect of human life that can not be separated from the role of language

is da'wah (preaching activity). Propagation is a process of delivering a message or

information to others by using language as a means of delivery. Many propaganda

messages that are not up to the audience because of the failure to deliver in the use of

language. The language used is not communicative so that the message can not be

language used as a means of introduction to consider as well. Special mission that

delivered orally, in addition to the language factor, there are other things that also

play an important role in determining the success of the mission. It is the speaker or

the person delivering the mission. In connection with the above description, this

    language?

    c. What are some things that need to be considered by the speaker or the

person delivering the order to his preaching mission succeed?

    B. The Role of Language in the Development of Da'wah

Before elaborating on the role of language in the development of mission, will

first be raised about the definition of propaganda. In the introduction, said that the

mission is a process of delivering a message or information to others by using

language as a means of delivery. In Big Indonesian Dictionary, is defined as

broadcasting propaganda or propaganda; broadcasting religion and development in

the community, with the calls to embrace, learn, and practice the teachings of

religion. Further, the Glorious Qur'an by definition, propaganda is an invitation to all

Dissemination efforts to appeal to the followers of religion can not be

separated from language as the main medium. Several historical events have proven

the spread of the role of language in proselytizing activities.

Spread of Christianity for example. In 1622 Pope Gregory XV established a

committee called the Commission of Cardinals which aims to foster the Christian

faith in some countries. In particular missionaries assigned to spread the Christian

doctrine in order to attract a few thousand new followers. 2 These activities make use

of language course to ensure the success of the mission. The missionaries in these

activities to maximize the role of language in its function as a propaganda tool.

Language as a tool of propaganda can be used to influence a person to adopt a stream,

attitude, or a particular course of action.

Similarly, the spread of other religions, such as Islam in the time of Prophet

Muhammad. At first only propagated Islam among families and relatives of Prophet

Muhammad, then gradually spread to all corners of the Arab lands, and even outside

the Arab region. The spread was due to the language that serves as conveying a

    message or information.

The role of language as a means of propaganda development can also be

observed in the history of religion in Indonesia, especially in the spread of Islam.

Islam entered in Indonesia was introduced by Parsi traders and Gujarat. They

introduced Islam in the coastal areas became centers of trade at that time. During its

development, Islam has spread to almost all corners of the archipelago. Everywhere

stood Islamic kingdoms. As a result it can be seen now, Indonesian Muslim majority.

Islam spread so quickly and reach a vast territory that, of course, because the role of

    language.

In Indonesia in particular, the role of language in the development of

propaganda seen increasing. This was evidenced by the increasing number of

television shows about religious broadcasting, for example pulpit Islam, Christianity

pulpit, pulpit Hinduism, and Buddhism Pulpit. Another proof that, more and more

publishing religious books are published each year. Secondly it shows how big the

role of language in proselytizing activities. With bahasalah propaganda delivered

orally and in writing, as mentioned above. Indeed, without a language nobody

    nobody unthinkable and unspeakable.

Furthermore, the use of language is precisely what is important in determining

the success of the mission. As an illustration, it can be seen and observed how the

famous preachers, such as Zainuddin MZ, Abdullah Gymnastiar, Arifin Ilham, and

Jefri Albukhari in meyampaikan messages of truth in Islam. How pastors Christian,

Hindu, and Buddhist in religion seeks to provide an understanding of the audience.

They are all trying to pack the course interesting language and the style of each.

The teen was more interested in propaganda delivery style Ustad Jefri, the parents are

more happy to delivery style propaganda Arifin Ilham, all ages enjoys preaching style

of delivery Aa Gym (Abullah Gymnastiar), and others. The difference was more

because of the use of language techniques are manifold. Their success in attracting

the attention of the audience certainly can not be denied. All because of their

    ingenuity in "play" language.

    C. Propaganda as a means of fostering and development of language

As activities that use language as the main media, propaganda can be used as

a means of fostering and development of language. This is possibly due to the

proselytizing activities of an interaction between a person and another person. To

foster and develop a language, then the language Peggunaan properly in these

interactions will indirectly be a model or language exposure for others who listen to

    the language usage.

Historical development of the Malay language in the pre-independence era

example can serve as an example. Initially, only Malay controlled by the Malay

community itself. Therefore, the Malay language is used constantly by those in the

trade at that time, then slowly the people who are involved in activities that can

understand and eventually master the Malay language. Malay then not only belong to

ethnic Malays, but almost the entire archipelago has been mastered.

Similarly, if you want to make propaganda as a means of development and language

development, such as Indonesian. In proselytizing activities should be used

Indonesian is good and right. Indonesian indiscriminate use should be avoided.

Mistake of using the word, word choice, pronunciation, and superfluous words, it

    should not be taken lightly.

The use of Indonesian is good and true in the propaganda delivered orally

were admittedly very difficult to realize in full. The reason is very clear, that is

because spoken language is the language of spontaneity. In addition, the use of

Indonesian is good and right in da'wah conveyed orally sometimes making the

    audience bored and uninterested.

However, because the formation and development of Indonesian is the

responsibility of the whole people of Indonesia, then the mission should also note the

use of Indonesian is good and right. It's a reflection of a positive attitude towards

Indonesian, as confirmed by Halim, that a positive attitude is the attitude towards

Indonesian Indonesian speakers are loyal, proud, and conscious of Indonesian

    norms. 3

    D. The Things You Need To Look For by the Speaker or the person who

    Delivering Da'wah

Public speaking require certain techniques. Mastery of the techniques used in

presenting the thoughts or ideas verbally is a requirement that must be met by a

speaker or a person who will deliver propaganda.

Some things to note for successful speech or propaganda is as follows.

    a) The Speaker shall Have Courage and Strong Determination

Courage is very basic. Without courage or bravery half would result in

disruption of the talks. Another thing that needs to be owned by a speaker, the

courage or determination. Strong determination to eliminate the doubt and adds

confidence to yourself. A speaker will be able to be calm, not stiff or awkward in

front of the audience if they have a strong determination and belief in yourself.

    b) The speaker must have extensive knowledge

A speaker or the person who will deliver the mission will have to master the

material conveyed his message that the content can be delivered smoothly and

    orderly.

    c) The Speaker shall Understanding Mass Communication

Understanding the speaker of the mass communication process can be

initiated by analyzing audience and situation.

    d) The speaker must be a good English Proficient and Fluent

A speaker who can speak good and fluent, of course have an adequate

vocabulary vocabulary. With an adequate vocabulary, a speaker would be able to

deliver the contents of his message in words that vary so do not make the audience

    bored or misunderstood.

Furthermore, in order that the mission that delivered it could be more

effective, a speaker should prepare some things before performing in front of

audiences. These things are recounted below.

    1) Determine the purpose or purposes of Da'wah

    8

Determine the intent or purpose mission needs to be done because it is

directing the speaker to determine the topic / subject that will be delivered. For

example, if the goal is that the audience is expected to understand the importance of

prayer, the speaker should talk about prayer in his preaching.

    2) Analyzing Listener and Situation

In order to achieve the purpose speech, a speaker must know the situation and

circumstances underlying the prospective listener / audience. In connection with this

audience analysis, Keraf stated a few things that need to be known by a speaker about

prospective audience, namely: the estimated number of listeners, gender, age,

    occupation, and education audiences. 4

The situation analysis includes the location, environmental conditions, time,

and the means to be used.

A speaker and a listener who analyzes the situation before appearing in front

of the audience will be able to effectively influence the audience.

    3) Choosing a Propagation Material

Propaganda material selected must be actual, it means the material must be

tailored to the issues that touch many audiences or tailored to a specific event.

    4) Collecting Material Talks

And raising the subject is crucial in order to produce a weighty mission. That

need to be considered in collecting this material is the subject to be completely

reliable and supported by strong evidence.

    5) Creating a framework Description

This needs to be done, because in general is something that has been planned

or organized well will produce something better than an unplanned early.

Some of these things when considered carefully and implemented properly by a

speaker will produce effective speech, and of course the audience will be interested or

    not saturated. 5
