Said al-Nursi as a Renewer of the Religion Through Demonstration

of the Truth of the Quran and Refutation of Its Misconceptions

Abstract

The content of this research is concluded in highlighting the role of the

Renewer al-Mujaddid Badiuzzaman Said al-Nursi in the renewal of the religions spirit and the revival of the determination of the Ummah to

advance after successive defeats from which the Ummah suffered during

his reign. He did his role by inserting the true faith in the hearts of

Muslims that were victims of ill desires and misconceptions which took

them away from the right way and thus left the righteous path. The

research deals with his regenerative approach in the face of his scientific

and practical confrontations with Orientalists in their intellectual

invasion. The research found that al-Nursi has devised a unique

methodology in the field of proving Quran infallibility by scientific,

intellectual and logic evidence. He had initiative effort in challenging

and refuting their methodologies indicating their irrelevances by using

what they themselves believe. He used to retell their misconceptions and

then refute them by explaining their internal contradictions, and convert

them from misconceptions for them into proofs against them with a

certain manner in which proved that what they claimed as insulation

against Quran is a miracle of that Holy Book, al-Quran.
