Blender adalah aplikasi grafis 3D yg dirilis sebagai perangkat lunak bebas (OSS) di bawah GNU General Public License. .Dapat digunakan untuk modeling, UV unwrapping, texturing, rigging, water simulations, skinning, animating, rendering, particle, dan simulations, non-linear editing, compositing, dan membuat interactive 3D applications,termasuk games.

Blender tersedia untuk sejumlah OS antara lain: Linux, Mac OS X, dan Microsoft Windows. Features termasuk advanced simulation tools seperti rigid body, fluid, cloth and softbody dynamics, modifier based modeling tools, powerful character animation tools, a node based material and compositing system dan Python untuk scripting.

Film ini dibuat sebagian besar sebagai sebuah eksperimen, bukan untuk menceritakan kisah tertentu dan karena itu memiliki karakter kuat dan suasana sureal. Dikisahkan dua laki-laki, Proog (yang lebih tua dan lebih berpengalaman) dan Emo (yang lebih muda dan lebih gugup) tinggal di sebuah konstruksi ajaib yang disebut sebagai "The Machine"; Proog mencoba untuk memperkenalkan Emo ke alam tetapi terakhir enggan dan berpendapat tentang tujuannya. Ide awalnya ditujukan untuk film yang menampilkan abstraksi dari sebuah komputer.
