AquaXRacerTraining–allcountriesAllridersmustcompletetheAquaXRacerTrainingpriortotakingpartinanAquaXevent.TheAquaXRacerTrainingsyllabuscontainstheoreticalandpracticalmodulesandwillbetaughtbyaqualifiedAquaXRacerTrainingInstructor.Thecoursetakesabout3-4hrstocompletedependingontherider’sskilllevel.OncesuccessfullycompletedtheAquaXtrainerwillthensignoffthepupil-ReadytoRace–andwillissuethemwithanAquaXtrainingcertificate.ThesyllabusistaughtinconjunctionwiththeAquaXrulebookanditsfunctionistoteachtherulesandregulationsofracing,nottoteachridershowtorace.ThetheoreticalmoduleistaughtinaclassroomsupportedbytheAquaXRacerTrainingPowerPointpresentation.ExamplepagesoftheAquaXRacerTrainingSyllabus

AquaXRacerTrainingteachesthepupilstoracewithduecareandattentiononthetrackandtorespecttherules.Itcovers,butisnotlimitedto,everythingfromthestartlinealignmentprocedure,toflagandwhistlecommunication,coursedesign,turns,lengthandrecoveryinthecaseofadismountetc.ThetrainingisincludedintheAquaXentrancefeeandwilltakeplaceatselectedvenuesbeforethestartoftheseason(seecalendar)andontheFriday/Saturdayoneacheventweekend.RiderswillneedtocontacttheSeriesAdministratorinadvancetobookatrainingsession.PupilswillneedtoarriveontimeandbringtheirskiandPersonalSafetyEquipment(PPE)withthemasclassesincludeboththeoryandpracticalassessments.Pleasenote:completingtheAquaXRacerTrainingcoursedoesnotnecessarilymeanapupilwillbepermittedtorace.Thepupilmustdemonstrate,toaninstructor,alevelofcompetenceinordertogainapass.AquaXRacerTrainingSyllabus-Theoretical

CHAMPIONSHIPORGANIZERSORGANOGRAM

AquaXRaceOfficials

RaceDirectorTheAquaXRaceDirectorisresponsiblefordirectingtheorganizationoftheracesonbehalfoftheSeriesOrganizerandtheNationalAuthority.OncetheracebeginstheultimateauthorityistransferredtotheAquaXRaceDirector.TheRaceDirector’sprimaryconcernisthesafeandcontrolledmanagementoftherace.He/sheisresponsiblefortheRiders’BriefingandthemanagementoftheAquaXraceofficials.He/shedeterminesthatallsafetyassetsareavailableandinposition,maintainsorderonthecourse,andensuresthatallactivitiesareconductedinaccordancewiththeRacingRules.He/sheverifiesanydecisionstostoporcurtailtherace.He/sheanalysesthewrittenreportsoftheofficialsandtimekeepersandanyotherdocumentsthatwillenabletheresultstobecompiled.TheRaceDirectorcanapplypenaltiestocompetitorsiftheyarefoundtobeincontraventionoftherules.TheRaceDirectorisnotallowedtositontheJury.TheSafetyOfficer(SO)IsthedeputytotheRaceDirector.He/shecoordinatesthesafetyservicesonshore,onthewaterandintheair.TheprimarydutyoftheSafetyOfficeristoensurethatallsafetyrelatedactivitiesarecoordinatedandthatanadequateresponsetoanysituationispromptlydelivered.TheSafetyOfficermustalsoensurethateventriskassessmentsarecreatedandplannedinadvancewiththefullcooperationoftherelevantstakeholders.HeadSafetyMarshal/SafetyMarshalsTheHeadSafetyMarshalandhisteamaretheeyesandearsoftheRaceDirectoronthewater.Theyutilisepersonalwatercrafttomanagethesafeconductoftheraceandensuretheracecourseislaidinlinewithcoordinatesinraceinstructions.Theyareresponsibleforescortingtheriderstoandfromthewetpitstotheracetrackandintothestartalignmentprocedure.AtalltimestheyareinradiocontactwiththeRaceDirector,SafetyOfficerandeachother.Theirprimaryconcernissafetyandtheyhavetheauthoritytostoparaceandapplypenaltieswhennecessary.TheycommunicatetotheridersviawhistlesandflagsignalstaughtinAquaXRacerTraining.TechnicalDirectorTheprimarydutyoftheTechnicalDirectoristocheckthatwatercraftandequipmentcomplywithcurrentracingrules.Riderswillberequiredtopresenttheircraftandequipmentfortechnicalinspectionpriortoeveryrace.Particularattentionwillbepaidtotheconditionofallpersonalprotectiveequipment(PPE);afullinspectionofthesteeringsystems,generalseaworthinessandintegrityofthecraftwillalsobecarriedout.Uponcompletionoftherace,theTechnicalDirectorwillinspectthetopfinishingcraft,oranywatercrafthe/shesochoosesforruleinfringements.RaceSecretaryTheracesecretaryislikelytobethefirstcontactariderhaswiththeorganizationalteam.Theroleoftheracesecretaryistorecordarider’spresenceatthemeeting,issueorconfirmlicencestatusandtoensurethatallriderscomplywithalloftheadministrativerequirementsasdescribedintherulesandseriesdocumentation.Inadditiontothistheracesecretarywillposttheraceresultsandissueimportantracebulletins.Timekeepers/Lapscorers-Officialtimekeeperswillrecordtheracetimes,lapsandpenalties.ThisinformationwillthenbecheckedbytheRaceDirector,signedandthenpostedonthepitboardbytheracesecretary.

2016 AQUAX RACING RULES

INTRODUCTION&FORMATTheserulesareintendedtoensuresafeandcompetitiveracingatareasonablecosttotheparticipants;toexpandandbroadenthegeneralbaseofparticipationandtheenjoymentofleisurecraftandtohelpthemarineindustrytodevelopanddemonstratetheperformanceofitsproductsparticularlyintheuseofnewenvironmentallyfriendlyengines.Anydevelopmentthatiscontrarytothispolicymaygiverisetoarulechangeasprovidedforundertheserules.TheAquaX brand incorporates any type of PWC competition organised by P1. The platform includes two disciplines under the heading ofEnduroandSprint.Eachcategory is thendivided intoPro,Pro/AmorAmateurdependingon thequalityof fieldand thesizeofentry.TheorganigrambelowexplainstheMYstructurefor2016.Therulesinthisrulebookrefertoallclassesunlessstatedotherwise.TheMalaysianserieswillruntoPro/Amruleswhereridersofalllevelswillracetogether.TheProclassEnduroandProSprintRulesareonlyvalidfortheProSeries.Atthispointintime,theProseriesonlyexistsintheUSA.AllotherAquaXserieswillruntoPro/Amrules,whichareincludedinthisrulebook.IfyouwishtocompeteintheProSeries,pleasecontacttheSeriesAdministratorforqualifyingandentryinformation.

Sprintisacontestofspeedandridingabilityfeaturingmultiplecompetitorsnegotiatingshortlaps,onacourseconsistingofleftand/orright-handturns.Standup,singleseatercraftandtheSea-DooSparkareclassifiedasSprintcraft

Enduroisacontestofenduranceandconsistencyfeaturingmulticraft,riddenbyridersofvaryingability.Thecoursesarelarge,withshallowturns.Racescanlastupto40minsinduration.Two,threeandfourseatercraftareclassifiedasEndurocraft.

(a) ‘WatercraftRacing’meanscompetitionsbetweenwatercraftontheseaoronopensurfacesofwater.

rulescanbefoundasanappendixtotherearoftheassociatedrulebook.(c) Entrantsaredividedintoclassesaccordingtowatercraftenginecapacityand/orability.TheSeriesOrganizerretainstherightto

allowspecialdispensationtodowngradeorupgradeawatercraftintoaclasslessthanormoreitsOEMratedhorsepowerifdeemedatadisadvantageoradvantagedtootherwatercraftinitscategory.Watercraftthatcomesunderthisrulewillbenamedinthespecificclassrulesandwillnotbereassignedduringthecourseoftheseason.

(d) OnlycraftlistedinAppendix1areallowedtocompeteinanAquaXevent.CraftthatarenotlistedinAppendix1mustapplyforhomologationbycontactingtheSeriesOrganizers.

(e) ThedecisionoftheTechnicalDirectorand/orRaceDirectorregardingthelegalityofacraft,itsmodificationswillbefinal.AnyquestionsregardingthelegalityofmodificationsshouldbedirectedtotheSeriesOrganizerpriortouseincompetition.

(f) Safetytakespriorityoverracingatalltimes.

1. AllcompetitorswhoenteranAquaXracemayalsoenterasateambylistingtheirteamnameontheentryform.Thereis

no limit totheamountofridersallowed inoneteam,butonlythetop3overallscoresperroundwillbecalculatedandawardedtotheoverallteampointstable.

(k) TheAquaXCup

1. TheAquaXCupisnotachampionshipclassandthereforechampionshipspointswillnotbeawardedorcarriedforwardtothenextround.Itspurposeistoacknowledgetheoverallfinishingpositionperroundofeachrider,regardlessofclass.TheoverallwinnerwillbeawardedtheAquaXCupandprizemoney.

2. CraftthataremodifiedandconsideredtechnicallyillegalfortheAquaXchampionships,maycompeteintheCup,providedtheriderhastakenpartinAquaXRacertrainingandadheredtothegeneralrulesandregulationsofcompetinginanAquaXevent.

(l) WorldRankingSystem-CriteriaforWorldRankingSystem–Enduro

TheAquaXCupdeterminestheoverallfinishingpositionsofEnduroridersregardlessofclassorstatus.NotitlesareawardedfortheCup,butpointsearnedwillgotowardscalculatingtheAquaXWorldRankings.

1. Arider’stotalnumberofWorldRanking(WR)Pointsisgainedfromamaximumof19racesoveratwo-year

periodasfollows:• WRpointsgainedfromthebesttwelve(12)raceswithintheprevious12months• WRpointsgainedfromthebestseven(7)racesolderthan12monthsbutwithin24months

2. Therearefive(5)criterioninthecalculationoftheWRpoints:

a. PositioninracebasedontheAquaXCupresultsareawardedwiththerespectivepointsbelow.

b. TheNumberofcompetitorsinthe300classofeachraceismultipliedwiththe250|200classfactor,whichisavailableonthep1aquax.comtoprovidetheoverallcompetitorfactor

c. ConditionofwaterisdeterminedbytheRaceDirectoronaslidingscalefrom1beingcalmthroughtoamaximumof1.1forlargesurfconditions.

d. Seriesweightingiscalculatedbyaddinganytopthirty(30)riderintheraceaccordingtotheirWRpositionatthetime

oftheraceasfollows:

LICENCETORACEAnyridertakingpartinanAquaXeventmustholdavalidIJSBAmembership/racelicenceissuedbytheirNationalAuthority.Membership/LicencingstructureswillvarydependingonNationalAuthority.TherecognizedNationalAuthorityforMalaysiaisPersatuanSukanAirBermotorMalaysia(PESUAM),whowillserveasthesanctioningbodyforallAquaXeventsandprovidetheeventinsurancepackage.PESUAMwillissuethreeIJSBAracelicences:AnnualNationalLicence-Eventlicence-InternationalLicence.

(a) AnnualNationalLicence-RM250NationalresidentstakingpartinanAquaXeventmayapplyforaNationalAnnualLicence.ThePESUAM-IJSBAracelicenceincludingpersonalsportsaccidentinsurancecoverageshallbevalidforthecurrentyearonly,withvalidityuptill31December2016.

AllcompetitorsarerequiredtosubmittheRider’sRegistration&MedicalEvaluationformalongwithAquaXEntryFormtotheSeries Organiserpriortotakingpartinanevent.Seeformfordetails. BeforearacelicencecanbegrantedandverifiedapplicantsmustcompletetheAquaXRacer-Trainingprogramme.Thetraining programmeneedsonlytobecompletedonceunlessariderhasnotcompetedinanAquaXeventinmorethan2years.Seetraining sectionatthefrontoftherulebook. ThisracelicensewillgrantriderstoparticipateinAquaXnationalandinternationalevents.AnysanctionedIJSBA national/internationalorworldchampionshipevents.

(b) EventLicence–RM250AnEventLicenceprovidesaRiderwithatemporaryracinglicenceandpersonalsportsaccidentinsurancevalidonlyforthedurationoftheeventatwhichitwasissuedandrestrictedtotheclassasauthorizedbytheorganiser.TheapplicantmusthaveundergonetheP1AquaXRacertrainingbeforethelicencecanbeappliedfor.Amedical‘selfdeclaration’formwillhavetobecompletedandsignedbytheRiderpriortotheissueoftheLicence.IfasecondEventlicenceisappliedforthenafullmedicalcheck-upisrequired.

(c) InternationalLicence-RM250Non-MalaysianriderswhointendtoparticipateinAquaXMYseriesarerequiredtoinformtheirnationalauthority/governingbodyoftheirintentiontoraceinAQXMalaysianseries.TheirNA/governingbodyisrequiredtoissueasupportlettertoPESUAMconfirmingthenationalridersparticipationandhasnoobjectionforthemtoraceinAQXMYseries.Ridersaretocomplete&submitthePESUAM-IJSBAformsandAquaXEntryFormsalongwithcopyofthesupportlettertoSeriesOrganiserThePESUAM-IJSBAracelicensewillonlybeissuedtoriderswhohavesuccessfullycompleted&passedtheAquaXRacerTrainingProgramme.

AX4. AGEREGULATIONS

(a) Ageregulationsapplyatthedateoftherace.(b) Riderundertheageof18mustprovideevidenceoftheirage.(c) Ridersunder18yearsofagemustbeaccompaniedattheeventbyaParent/Guardian.Allwhoareunder18onthedateoftherace

willberequiredtosubmitwrittenconsentoftheirparentorguardiantotheirparticipationintheraceandconfirmationoftheiracceptanceoftherulesgoverningtherace.

WATERCRAFTREGISTRATIONANDCOMPLIANCEAX5. CONTROLOFWATERCRAFT

(a) Onlyvalidmembership/Licenceholdersarepermittedtocontrolthewatercraftwhilstracing.(b) Onceregistered,watercraftareallowedoutonthewaterONLYatthetimesdesignatedinraceinstructionsorwithprioragreement

withtheAquaXRaceDirector.Non-conformancemayresultindisqualificationfromtheeventand/orafineasstipulatedinraceinstructions.

AX6. ENTRIES

(a) AllentriesmustbemadeviatheOfficialEntryFormandallaccompanyingtermsandconditionscompliedwith.(b) EntryofanyriderintoanyraceofthechampionshipisfullyatthesolediscretionoftheSeriesOrganizerwhoreservestherightto

(k) SAFETYTAKESPRECEDENCEOVERRACINGATALLTIMES.Competitorsshoulddonothingtoendangercrew,spectatorsorotherparticipants.

(m) RESTARTINGARACE

1. TheAquaXRaceDirectormayrestarttheraceathis/herdiscretion.Reasonsforrestartmayinclude(butarenotlimitedto)loosebuoy,anaccidentonthefirstlapinvolvingseveralriders,oradownedriderwhosepresencepotentiallycreatesahazard.

2. Allmachineswillbestoppedundertheredflag.TheStartMarshal(PWC)willnotifyriderswhentomovetheirmachines,andwillescortthembacktothestartarea.

3. Iftheraceisrestarted,ridersnothavingpreviouslystartedinthatracewillbeallowedtoenterintherestart.4. Ifaraceisstoppedwithfewerthanthreelapscompleted,atotalrestartmaybeused.Riderswillbeassembledonthe

startinglineintheorderoftheoriginalstart.Anyriderpenalizedontheoriginalstartwillberequiredtorestartunderthesamepenalty.

5. (h) Ariderfalsestartingwillbegivenadeadenginestart.Orinthecaseofarollingstart,willbedockedtwopositionsattheendofthe

race.(i) Ifatanytimeduringthestartprocedurearedflagisraised,thestarthasbeenabortedandallridersmustreturn,atasafespeed,to

(n) RESTARTINGARACE:TheAquaXRaceDirectormayrestarttheraceathis/herdiscretion.Reasonsforrestartmayinclude(butarenotlimitedto)loosebuoy,anaccidentonthefirstlapinvolvingseveralriders,oradownedriderwhosepresencepotentiallycreatesahazard.

1. Allmachineswillbestoppedundertheredflag.AStartMarshal(PWC)willnotifyriderswhentomovetheirmachines,

andwillescortthembacktothestartarea.

2. Iftheraceisrestarted,ridersnothavingpreviouslystartedinthatracewillbeallowedtoenterintherestartunderadeadengine.

3. Ifaraceisstoppedwithfewerthanthreelapscompleted,atotalrestartmaybeused.Riderswillbereassembledon

thestartinglineintheorderoftheoriginalstart.Anyriderpenalizedontheoriginalstartwillberequiredtorestartunderthesamepenalty.

4. Ifaraceisstoppedafterthreeormorelapshavebeencompletedandarestartisrequired,aflyingstartmaybeused.

Theriderswillbepositionedinasingle-filelineintheorderinwhichthelastcompletelapwasscored.Theriderswillbeledaroundthecourseinsinglefileatslowspeed(20mph/32km)behindtheStartBoatorHeadMarshalflyingtheGreenflag,maintainingthree-boatlengthbetweenthem.Whenthegreenflagdrops,theridersmayresumeracing.Noovertakingwillbealloweduntiltheriderspassthroughthestartgate.Anypenaltiesreceivedfromthefirststartwillbeappliedattheendoftherace.

AX29. ALTERNATESTARTPROCEDURES:DEPENDINGONTHEVENUEANDCONDITIONS

(a) ALeMansstartcanbeusedtostartanentirefieldofridersorindividualclasses.Eachriderwilllineuponshorehis/herwatercraftinthedesignatedstartingareafacingoffshore.EachRiderwillbeallowedoneholdertosteadythewatercraft.(TheRaceDirectormayallowmoreholdersdependingonwaterconditions.)Riderswilllineuponshoreatequaldistancesawayfromtheirwatercraftpre-determinedbytheRaceDirector.AtthesignalfromtheStarter,riderswillraceonfoottotheirwatercraft,starttheengineandenterthecourseasdescribedattheRider’sBriefing.

(b) Staggeredstart:Astaggeredstartwillbeusediftheclassentryexceeds40ridersorthethevenueisnotofasufficientsizetosafelystartallcompetitorsatonetime.Thehigherhorsepower,orhigherrankingridersdependingontheclassstructureoftheeventwillstartfirst.Remainingclasses/riderswillbereleasedafteraminimumof20secondsorwhenitissafetodoso.IfastaggeredstartisrequiredthemthesystemwillbeexplainedattheRidersBriefing.

AX30. VALIDSTARTERS

(a) Anentryacceptedbytheorganizersandhavingsatisfactorilycompletedtraining,technicalInspection,attendingallrequiredbriefingsandhavingtakenpartinpracticeasdescribedintheraceinstructionattheprescribedtime,underthestartingarrangementsspecifiedbytheraceprogrammeoratRiders’briefing,isconsideredtobeavalidstarter.

AX31. AlternativeRaces

(a) Matchracingisatimedknockoutcompetition.StartingprocedureandraceinstructionswillbedescribedatRiders’Briefing.

Riderswillbepairedwithanotherridertonegotiatetwoidenticalcoursesagainsttheclock.Bothriderswillthencompleteonecircuitofeachcourseatthesametime.Thewinningriderwillqualifythroughtothenextround.Theloserwillbeknockedout.

1. Thesamewatercraftmustbeusedforbothruns.2. Firstplacefinishesorthefastestcombinedtimewilldecidethewinneroftheround.3. Ariderfailingtoproperlynegotiateacoursemarkerwillbepenalized10secondsforeachmarkmissed.4. Itisstrictlyforbiddentogobackandretakeamissedmark.

AX32. RACINGRULESGeneral-Itisthedutyofeachridertoensurethattheirwatercraftisdriveninamannerthatdoesnotcompromisethesafetyofthemselvesanyothercompetitororanyspectator.Differentwatercraftanddifferentclassesofwatercrafthandleandrespondindifferentwaysanddifferentweatherandseaconditionsaffectthewaywatercrafthandle.Theamountofsearoomrequiredandtimeneededtomakeamanoeuvreoravoidacollisionwillvaryfromwatercrafttowatercraftandracetorace.Thismustbetakenintoaccountwhenreadingtheserules.AquaXracingisanon-contactsportandridersmaybepenalisedatthediscretionoftheAquaXRaceDirectorifcontactoccurs.WhilstnotracingorparticipatinginofficialpracticesessionswatercraftareboundbytheInternationalRulesforthePreventionofCollisionatSea.AllwatercraftmustobservetheInternationalRulesforthePreventionofCollisionsatSeawhenencounteringanyothernon-racingcraft.

(a) Responsibilityofallriders-Itistheresponsibilityofeachridertoensuretheyarefullyawareoftheconsequencesoftheiractions

andtoanticipatetheactionsofotherwatercraftintheirimmediatevicinity.Allridersmusttakeanyactionnecessarytoavoidacollision.Aconstantlookoutmustbemaintainedandridersareremindedoftheimportanceofgoodandefficientcommunicationatalltimes.

(b) FlagSignals–Ridersmustobeyallflagsignalsgivenbyofficialsduringpracticeorracing.Failuretocomplywithflagsignalsmayresultinapenaltyordisqualification.

(c) Riders-Themaximumnumberofriderspervesselisone.(d) Ridingonthecourse-RidingwillnotbeallowedontheracecourseatanytimewithoutpermissionfromtheAquaXRaceDirector.(e) Reckless/DangerousRiding-Anyrecklessordangerousriding,unnecessarybumping,crowding,chopping,blocking,deliberate

strikingorbreakingofacoursemarkerbuoy,orunsportsmanlikeconductonthecourseoroff,mayresultintheriderbeingpenalized.Inthecaseofateameffort,thecompleteteammaybepenalizedatthediscretionoftheAquaXRaceDirector.

(f) Collision–ifeverfacingapotentialheadoncollision–ALWAYSTURNRIGHTtoavoidit.(g) Blocking-ThedeliberateblockingofafastermachineiscauseforpenaltyatthediscretionoftheAquaXRaceDirector.(h) SpinOuts-Itisexpresslyforbiddentorideinadirectionoppositeofthatoftheapprovedracecourse.Ariderwhosecrafthasspun

outispermittedtoturnaroundtocontinuetheeventprovidedsuchactionistakenonlywhenthecourseisclear.Theridermustgiverightofwaytootherridersonthecourse.Ridersgoinginthewrongdirectionmaybepenalized.

(i) Obstruction-Ifforanyreasonariderisforcedtostoponornearthecourseduringanevent,itistherider’sfirstdutytoremovehisorhercraftfromthecourseinsafemannersoasnottoendangerorobstructotherriders.Ridersshouldmoveintothecenterofthecourseandwaitforinstruction.

(j) Passing-ARidermustalwaysbepreparedforanotherridertopassandmustthereforebeawareofotherridersapproachingfrombehind.Theovertakingridermustconsiderthesafestroutetopassandmustdosowithoutforcingtheovertakenridertosuddenlyaltercourse.

(k) Lapping-Ariderbeinglappedmustallowtheovertakingridertopass,butcancontinueracing.Iforwhenpossibleariderabouttobelappedwillbeshownablueflagtoalertthemtoafasterriderapproaching.

(l) HandSignals-ARiderwhohasspunout,fallenorstalledmustraiseoneorbothhandsoverheadtoindicatethatheorsheisnotinjured.Re-entryintothecoursemustbedoneinasafeandcarefulmannerwiththeright-of-waygiventooncomingRiders.

(m) On-courseassistance-Ridersmayreceiveon-courseassistancefromanotherriderorcoursemarshal.Ifmechanicalorotherassistanceisneeded,theRidermustsafelypullintothemiddleofthecourseremovingthemselvesfromtheracingline.

(n) Ridersre-enteringthecourseinanunsafemannermaybepenalized.ThedecisionbytheRaceDirectorwillbefinal.(o) Finishline-Onceariderreceivesthecheckeredflaghe/shemustNOTSTOPabruptly,butcontinueonwhilstraisingahandand

lookingbeforeturningintothecenterofthetracktowaitforfurtherinstruction.ThisprocedurewillbedescribedatRidersMeeting.

(p) Changingcraft:

1. Allcraftusedinracingmustpasstechnicalinspectionandaffixedwithatechsticker,legalsizedracenumbersandAquaX logosstickers.2. Pro/AmandAmateurRacersmaynotchangecraftbetweenracesunlessthecrafthasreceivedconsiderablehulldamage causedfromaracingcollisionandistakingonwater.TheridermustinformtheRaceDirectorimmediately.Racers changingcraftwillincuratwo-positionpenaltyattheendoftheracewhenallscoresaresettled.

AX33. INCIDENTPROCEDURE

(a) Intheeventofahazardorincidentonthecourse,theyellowflagprocedurewillbeusedtocontrolthefleet.(b) ThereisNOOVERTAKINGinthevicinityoftheincident/yellowflagswillmarkthearea.(c) Whendeemedthecourseisclearyellowflagswillberemovedandracingwillresume.(d) Intheeventofaseriousincidenttheredflagprocedurewillapply.(e) Itistherider’sresponsibilitytomonitortheallflagsignalswhilstdeployed.

AX34. TURNMARKSANDMISSEDMARKS

AX36. FINISHINGARACE

(a) Whentheleadingwatercraftineachclasscompletesthecourseandcrossesthefinishingline,thechequeredflagwillbewaved.Itdesignatesthewinneroftheraceandthestartofthefinishprocedure.

(b) Thechequeredflagwillbegiventoallsubsequentwatercraftthatcrossthefinishlineirrespectiveofclass.(c) Allriderscrossingthefinishinglineafterthewinningwatercraftwillbeclassifiedandscoredashavingfinishedtheraceprovided

theyhavecovered70%ofthelapscompletedbytheleadingriderintheirspecificclass.

(e) TimeLimit:Allwatercrafthaveamaximumof5minutesfromthetimethewinningwatercraftcrossesthefinishlinetocompletetheirfinallap.

(f) Tobeeligibleforpoints,awatercraftdoesnotneedtocrossthefinishlineafterthewinningwatercraftbutmustcompleteaminimumof70%ofthelapscompletedbythewinningwatercraftintheirclass,roundeduptothenearestfulllap.

(g) Watercraftwillberankedaccordingtothenumberoflapscompletedandtheorderinwhichtheyfinished.Watercraftfinishingtherace(passingthroughthechequeredflags)willbescoredhigherthanthosecompletingthesameamountoflapsand70%oftherace,butnotpassingthroughthechequeredflags.

(h) Theracemaybecurtailedorstoppedatthefinishlineatanytimebywavingthechequeredandredflags.AX37. CURTAILMENTOFARACE

AcurtailmentdecisioncanbemadeatanytimeduringaraceprovidedthecurtailmentissignalledontheStart/Finishlinetotheleadingwatercraft.Theleadingwatercraftshallthenstopracingimmediately.AllotherwatercraftshallstopracingwhentheynextcrosstheStart/Finishline.RetiringfromacurtailedracepriortocurtailmentwillnotprecludeaRiderfromreceivingpoints.

AX38. RETIREMENTPROCEDURE

(a) Onretiringfromaraceallwatercraftmust,whenpracticaltodoso,turnintothecentreofthecourseandwaitforassistance.Ifthewatercraftstallsonthetrack,theridershouldsignalawaterbornemarshalbyusinghiswhistleasdescribedattheRiders’briefing.

(b) Awatercraftthathasretiredaftercompleting70%ofthelapsbythewinningwatercraftintheirclass,iseligibleforchampionshippointsbasedontheamountoflapscompleted.

limittotheamountofridersallowedinoneteam,butonlythetop3overallscoresperroundwillbecalculatedfortheoverallteamChampionship.

2. Oncetheteamisformed-i.e.ateamnameregisteredandtheriderliststheteamnameonhis/herentryformtheirpointswillbeallocatedtothatteamfortheseason.Thisnamecannotberetractedorpointsreallocatedtootherteamsoncetheseasonhasstarted.TheteamscanbemadeupofanyriderinanyclassexceptforthoseclassedasCupOnlyentries.Theteamwiththehighestscorewillbeawardedtheteamtrophy.

ItistheRiders’responsibilitytomonitorthepostingoftheprovisionalresults.5. Provisionalresultswillbecomeofficialonehourafterpostingprovidednoprotestshavebeenreceived.

(b) OfficialResults

1. Afteronehour,orimmediatelyfollowingtheendofposttechnicalinspection(whichevercomesfirst),theprovisionalresultswillbecomeofficialassumingnoprotest(s)havebeenreceived.

2. TheAquaXRaceDirectormustsigntheresultsasofficialandstatethetimeofpostingontheprovisionalresults.Asfromthisperiodnoprotestscanbelodgedbycompetitors.

3. TheissuingofofficialresultsdoesnotexemptriderswhocompetedintheeventfrompenaltiesforruleviolationsandtechnicalinfringementsdeterminedbytheRaceCommitteefollowingtheprotestperiod.

4. Shouldaninfringementoftherulesbyacompetitorbedeterminedbyanindependentandpre-nominatedthirdpartytohavetakenplace,theofficialresultscanberevised.Theseinfringementsincludebutarenotlimitedto:

(c) PostRaceReviewofofficialelectronicdatacaptureandotherevidence

1. TheRaceCommitteehasthepowertoreviewanyandallofficialelectronicdatacaptureandotherevidenceresultingfromanyraceandispermittedtocorrectanyerrorsuptofivedaysaftertheevent.

2. Anychange/penaltiesappliedinthepostedresultsaccordingtothisrulemaybeprotested,bytherider,within5daysoftheissuedate.

AX42. MEDICALEXAMINATION

(a) TheRaceCommitteemayinstructtheMedicalOfficerwhoispresentatanyAquaXRacingEvent,tosubmitanyriderenteredtoaphysical,alcoholordrugstestatanytimeduringtheevent.AnyonerefusinganytestshallbesuspendedfromtheeventandreportedtoSeriesOrganizerforpossiblesuspension.Themaximumalcohollevelforcrewmembers,mechanicsandofficialsisthesameasthatdefinedbythelegislation,inthecountryinwhichracingistakingplace,relatingtodrivingamotorvehicleonthepublichighway.

(b) TheresultsofsuchexaminationsshallbecommunicatedtotheAquaXRaceDirectorwho,basedonthereportoftheMedicalOfficer,mayexcludetheRiderfromthecompetition.

AX43. BANNEDSUBSTANCESANDBANNEDMETHODS

(a) AnyRider,mechanicorraceofficialsuspectedofbeingundertheinfluenceofalcoholshouldbereportedtotheAquaXRaceDirectorwhohastheauthoritytoaskforabreathtest.ARiderfailingorrefusingatestshallbesuspendedfromtheeventbythejuryandreportedtotheNationalAuthority.

(b) BannedSubstancesandBannedMethods.1. AcompetitorshallneithertakeabannedsubstancenoruseamethodbannedbythecurrenteditionoftheWorldAnti

DopingAgency(WADA)listofDopingClassesandMethods.(c) ControlofBannedSubstancesandDopingControlProcedures

1. CompetitorsselectedfortestingmustnotrefusetobetestedandshallappearattheControlCentreatthetimeappointedbytheSamplingOfficer.

2. AnyinfringementofthisrulewillbereportedimmediatelytotheRaceJuryandsubsequentlytothenationalgoverningbody.

(d) Nocompetitorshallprotestanothercompetitorforaninfringementofthisrule.AX44. GROSSMISCONDUCTANDUNACCEPTABLEBEHAVIOUR

Anyabusive,aggressiveorunsportsmanlikebehaviour.6. Anyinstancesofverbalorphysicalabuseagainstanyrideroreventofficial.7. PursuinglegalactionagainsttheSeriesOrganizer,eventofficialsandracers.8. Bringingthechampionshipintodisrepute.

(b) Penaltiesmayincludeyellowcards,redcards,suspensionordisqualificationfromanevent,exclusionfromtheChampionshipand

theimpositionofapointsorfinancialpenalty.
