ABSTRACT (ENGLISH) Thisresearchintendstodevelopaconceptualmodelthatillustrateshowmultimedia approachescouldbeusedtoenhanceteachingandlearningofaMathematicssubjectin primary school as wellas to preserve Wayang Kulitinyounger generation. Aprototype will bedevelopedtodemonstratehowthecontentofastandardoneMathematicssubjectin primaryschoolcould betransferred intomultimedia form. Theprototypeis developed ina formofDigitalWayang Kulittopresent the contentsbased onthesyllabusofMathematics education using the actors ofWayang Kulit. Primary School Mathematics Curriculum aims to develop pupils' understanding of the concept ofnumbers and basic computing skills (Ministry of Education, 2001). AccordingtoZurina,M.(2005),multimediatechnologyhasreformthecurrent education system and is successfully implemented for its advantages and capabilities. In this modern era ofinformation and technology, the traditional teaching and learning although still applicable couldbeenhancedbyusingthemoderntoolssuchasmultimediatoimprovestudents' understanding and appreciation ofmathematics education in school. Pupilsareseentobemoremotivatedwhenusingmultimedia.Teachershavestatedthat multimedia enables pupilsto workat a different pace,andsome packages can betailored to thepupils'needs.Teachershavealsosuggestedthattheyregardpupilsaslearningco- operatively when multimedia is used (Slack, 1999).
