Tahun 2006 luas Kecamatan Sirimau

adalah 86,81 Km2.

Bila diamati tabel 1.3, jarak dari

Ibukota Kecamatan dengan

Desa/Kelurahan, maka jarak yang

terjauh adalah Desa Hative Kecil

sejauh 8,00 Km dan yang terdekat.

Ada empat buah sungai yang

melintasi Kecamatan Sirimau, yaitu

Way Ruhu-yang merupakan sungai

terpanjang di Kecamatan ini, Way

Batumerah, Way Tomu dan Way Batu

Gajah. Sementara itu, satu-satunya

gunung yang ada di Kecamatan

Sirimau adalah Gunung Sirimau

dengan ketinggian 566 meter dari

permukaan laut.

2. PEMERINTAHAN / GOVERNMENT

Struktur organisasi

pemerintah ditingkat Kecamatan

terdiri dari Kepala Kecamatan

(camat) sebagai Kepala

Pemerintahan yang kedudukannya

berada setingkat di bawah

Pemerintah Kota Ambon.

Camat dalam pelaksanaan

tugasnya sehari-hari dibantu oleh

seorang Sekretaris Kecamatan

(Sekcam) dan Kepala-kepala Urusan

serta stafnya. Pemerintahan

Kecamatan Sirimau membawahi 14

Desa/Kelurahan dan sejak tahun

1978 sampai sekarang tercatat

sebanyak sembilan orang Camat

yang bertugas memegang tampuk

pemerintahan di Kecamatan ini

(Lihat tabel 2.1-2.2.).

Dari tahun 2009, seluruh

Desa/Kelurahan yang berada di

Kecamatan Sirimau sudah masuk ke

dalam klasifikasi desa/kelurahan

3. KEPENDUDUKAN / POPULATION

Laju pertumbuhan

penduduk di Kecamatan Sirimau

pada tahun 2014 mengalami

kenaikan sebesar 4.16 % dari tahun

2013. Dengan jumlah penduduk

sebanyak 167 197 jiwa yang tersebar

di 4 desa dan 10 kelurahan dengan

luas wilayah 86,81 km2, kepadatan

penduduk tercatat 176 154.18 jiwa

per km2. Sex ratio penduduk

Kecamatan Sirimau sebesar 13.78

hal ini menunjukan bahwa setiap

100 jiwa penduduk perempuan

terdapat 99 jiwa penduduk laki-laki.

Desa/Kelurahan dengan

jumlah penduduk terbanyak pada

tahun 2014 di Kecamatan Sirimau

adalah desa Batu merah dengan

69 400 jiwa, diikuti Kelurahan Batu

Meja dengan 11 774 jiwa.

Sedangkan Desa Galala adalah desa

dengan jumlah penduduk terendah,

4.1. Pendidikan

Keberhasilan pendidikan tentunya

diiringi dengan peningkatan sarana dan

prasarana yang bisa menunjang baik

dari pemerintah maupun swasta

Pada tahun 2014, di kecamatan

Sirimau terdapat 32 TK dengan 1 909

murid dan 149 guru, SD sebanyak 68

sekolah dengan 15 800 murid dan 1

233 guru, SLTP sebanyak 18 Sekolah

dengan 7 493 murid dan 632 guru,SMU

sebanyak 12 sekolah dengan 7 845

murid dan 556 guru; sedangkan SMK

sebanyak 6 sekolah dengan 1344 murid

dan 166 guru.

Pada tahun 2014, jumlah

mahasiswa aktif pada Institut

AgamaIslam Negeri(IAIN) Ambon

tercatat 4 558 orang. Dari ketiga

fakultas yang ada, Tarbiyah merupakan

Program Keluarga Berencana (KB)

yang dicanangkan Pemerintah

merupakan salah satu upaya

mengendalikan angka kelahiran, yang

diantaranya melalui penggunaan alat

kontrasepsi secara teratur dan

berkesinambungan. Dengan

meningkatnya pelayanan KB di

Kecamatan Sirimau, telah memberikan

motivasi yang besar bagi kalangan

Pasangan Usia Subur (PUS).

Dalam pencapaian Akseptor KB

Aktif pada tahun 2014, suntik masih

menjadi alat kontrasepsi yang paling

5. PERTANIAN /AGRICULTURE

Sektor Pertanian masih

memiliki peranan yang strategis di

Kecamatan Sirimau khususnya di

daerah pedesaan. Sesuai kondisi

geografis yang ada serta

kemampuan lahan yang tersedia di

masyarakat Desa/Kelurahan dalam

wilayah Kecamatan Sirimau lebih

mengarah pada pengembangan

tanaman hortikultura dan palawija.

5.1. Pertanian Tanaman Pangan

Hasil produksi Ubi Kayu di

Kecamatan Sirimau selama tahun

2014 yang tercatat pada Dinas

Pertanian dan Peternakan Kota

Ambon mengalami Penurunan

sebesar 646,00 ton dengan rata-rata

produksi 19 ton/ha.

Sedangkan hasil produksi

Ubi Jalar sebesar 55,80 ton dengan

rata-rata produksi 9,30 Ton/Ha,.

5.2. Peternakan

Populasi ternak di

Kecamatan Sirimau hampir secara

keseluruhan mengalami

peningkatan, hanya ternak kambing

yang mengalami penurunan di tahun

2014 menjadi 517 dari 539 ekor dan

ternak kerbau sudah tidak ada lagi

yang mengembangbiakan. Namun,

disisi lain populasi itik dan ayam

pedaging mengalami kenaikan.

5.3. Perikanan

Salah satu sub sektor yang

cukup memberikan andil bagi sektor

pertanian adalah sub sektor

perikanan. Selama tahun 2014, ikan

Cakalang memberikan kontribusi

terbesar dalam hal produksi maupun

nilai produksinya, yaitu sebesar

Peranan sektor transportasi

kecil atas 2 unit.

7. PARIWISATA DAN PERHOTELANTOURISM AND HOTELS

7.1. Pariwisata

Sektor pariwisata di Kecamatan

Sirimau hingga tahun 2014 memiliki

13 obyek wisata. Dari jumlah

tersebut terdapat tiga lokasi yang

belum dikembangkan diantaranya

Gunung Sirimau, kali air besar didesa

dan dusun wisata di kelurahan

waihoka soya. Obyek-obyek wisata

yang berada di Kecamatan Sirimau

sangat jarang dikunjungi wisatawan

karena para wisatawan lebih banyak

terfokus pada obyek wisata pantai,

sedangkan di Kecamatan Sirimau

didominasi oleh jenis objek wisata

sejarah.

7.2. PerhotelanJumlah hotel di Kecamatan

Sirimau pada tahun 2014 tercatat

sebanyak 52 hotel diantaranya

Attractions in the Sirimau

In 2014, number of hotel in

sirimau subdistrict were 52 hotels

with 10 of them were Star Hotels

hotel non bintang/penginapan/

wisma. Untuk hotel berbintang

memiliki 586 kamar tersedia 849

tempat tidur sedangkan hotel non

bintang/penginapan/wisma

menyediakan 1.040 kamar dengan

1.347 tempat tidur

8.1. Koperasi

Pada tahun 2014 terdapat 393

unit Koperasi yang terdiri atas 21

jenis koperasi. Tiga koperasi di

antaranya berjenis Koperasi Unit

Desa (KUD) sedangkan 390 lainnya

koperasi Non KUD. Dari jumlah 393

unit tersebut, jumlah yang terbesar

adalah Koperasi Serba Usaha

sebanyak 202 unit . Lebih lanjut ikuti

tabel 8.1.1 dan 8.1.2
