ABSTRAKKontrol diri remaja The Maczman yang rendah menyebabkan tingginya pemujaan The Maczman terhadap PSM Makassar yang tidak sesuai dengan norma di masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat hubungan negatif antara kontrol diri dengan perilaku memuja selebritas pada remaja The Maczman Makassar. Subjek penelitian ini sebanyak 124 anggota remaja The Maczman berjenis kelamin laki-laki yang didapatkan melalui teknik accidental sampling. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah teknik analisis Spearman Brown. Adapun hasil analisis koefisien korelasi antar kedua variabel, r=-0,422 dengan nilai signifikansi p=0,000 yang berarti bahwa ada hubungan yang sangat signifikan, negatif, dan berkorelasi sedang antara kontrol diri dengan memuja selebritas pada remaja The Maczman Makassar. Penelitian ini menggambarkan bahwa semakin rendah kontrol diri maka semakin tinggi memuja selebritas pada remaja The Maczman Makassar. Demikian, penelitian ini dapat dijadikan sebagai evaluasi agar anggota mampu mengontrol diri sehingga menjadi supporter yang lebih sportif. Remaja merupakan individu yang masih berada pada tahapan mencari identitas diri. Dalam tahapan ini, remaja akan mencari figur model untuk dijadikan panutan untuk diri individu agar mampu terjun dan berinteraksi ke tengah masayarakat. Industri hiburan tanah air yang

semakin berkembang menyebabkan bermunculnya figur-figur publik yang baru, contohnya Atlet. Berkat kemajuan teknologi dan media massa, prestasi dan kehidupan sehari-hari atlet telah menjadi sorotan publik dan semakin diidolakan oleh masyarakat. Hal ini

memicu munculnya beragam komunitas penggemar khususnya terhadap atlet.

Sepak bola merupakan salah satu cabang olahraga yang paling banyak diminati oleh masyarakat terkhusus di Makassar. Hal ini di dibuktikan dengan jumlah penggemar terbesar yang tegabung dalam satu komunitas yaitu The Maczman yang merupakan komunitas penggemar klub PSM Makassar. Berdasarkan hasil data base anggota yang di peroleh dari Sekretaris Jendral The Maczman di Makassar, anggota The Maczman untuk wilayah Makassar sudah tercatat sejak tahun 2001 kurang lebih 12.000 anggota hingga tahun 2015.

The Maczman sering menunjukkan eksistensinya di setiap pertandingan PSM Makassar. The Maczman yang selalu terlibat di setiap pertandingan demi mendukung dan memberikan support terhadap PSM Makassar hingga di pertandingan luar kota seperti Jakarta, Bali, dll. Totalitas The Maczman terhadap PSM Makassar juga tampak ketika akan pertandingan, dimulai dengan melakukan konvoi dijalanan ketika akan pergi menonton pertandingan, ketika pertandingan berlangsung lagu-lagu tidak berhenti di nyanyikan untuk mendukung PSM Makassar, mengenakan baju The Maczman dengan segala atribut dan simbol PSM Makassar, hingga melakukan body painting untuk memaksimalkan aksinya. Dukungan The Maczman yang tiada hentinya merupakan wujud dari pemujaan The Maczman terhadap PSM Makassar

Maltby, Giles, Barber, McCutcheon (2005) menjelaskan bahwa memuja selebritas adalah sebuah gambaran perilaku obsesif individu dimana individu berusaha untuk selalu terlibat didalam kehidupan idola sehingga tak jarang ikut terbawa didalam kehidupan idolanya sehari-hari. Darfiyanti dan Putra (2012) mengemukakan bahwa semakin tinggi tingkat pemujaan seseorang, maka semakin tinggi juga tingkat keterlibatan dengan sosok yang diidolakan. Hal ini memperkuat bahwa Pemujaan The Maczman terhadap PSM Makassar ditandai dengan selalu terlibat dalam kegiatan PSM Makassar, mulai dari informasi tentang PSM Makassar yang selalu update di setiap sosial media dan group chatting The Maczman.

Maltby, Giles, Barber, dan McCutcheon (2005) mengemukakan bahwa terdapat tiga aspek dalam memuja selebritas, yaitu:a. Entertainment social merupakan

motivasi dalam diri individu untuk terus melakukan pencarian informasi tentang selebriti favoritnya.

b. Intense personal merupakan refleksi dari perasaan intensif dan kompulsif terhadap selebriti.

c. Borderline pathological merupakan keadaan individu yang bersedia melalukan apapun demi selebriti favoritnya, hal ini cenderung tidak terkontrol dan menjadi irasional.

Sunarni (2016) melakukan sebuah penelitian tentang memuja selebritas di kota Yogyakarta. Penelitian tersebut dilakukan pada 164 remaja usia SMA di kota Yogyakarta. Penelitian tersebut menghasilkan bahwa sebagian besar remaja SMA

di kota Yogyakarta mengalami memuja selebritas pada aspek enternaitnment social yaitu sebesar 52,44%.

Pemujaan The Maczman terhadap PSM Makassar sangatlah besar, namun pemujaan The Maczman semakin menjadi berlebihan di dukung oleh kebiasaan setiap anggota yang melakukan hal-hal yang diluar kendali tanpa berfikir panjang terlebih dahulu. Anggota The Maczman sangat mudah terprovokasi dan mudah tegoda untuk melakukan aksi-aksi negaitf terhadap lawan ketika PSM Makassar kalah dan merasa mengalami ketidakadilan, seperti ketika situasi di stadion mulai memanas, anggota The Maczman sulit menahan dorongan emosi sehingga menimbulkan perilaku-perilaku yang tidak sesuai dengan aturan PSSI. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa anggota The Maczman tidak memiliki kontrol diri yang baik dan menyebabakan The Maczman mendukung PSM Makassar secara berlebihan, sesuai dengan teori oleh Baumeister (2002) mengemukakan bahwa kontrol diri merupakan proses monitoring yang mengatur atau mengendalikan perilaku agar sesuai dengan norma dan aturan yang berlaku. Kontrol diri juga dapat diartikan sebagai kapasitas untuk mengubah diri. Individu yang memiliki kontrol diri yang baik cenderung berperilaku berdasarkan keyakinan, nilai, dan manfaat jangka panjang yang akan diperoleh.

Averill (1973) mengemukakan tiga aspek dalam kontrol diri yaitu:a. Kontrol Perilaku yaitu kesiapan

tersedianya suatu respon yang

dapat secara langsung memengaruhi atau memodifikasi suatu keadaan yang tidak menyenangkan.

b. Kontrol kognitif yaitu kemampuan individu yang digunakan untuk mengelolah informasi yang tidak diinginkan.

c. Mengontrol keputusan yaitu kemampuan seseorang untuk memilih tindakan berdasarkan pada hal yang diyakini atau disetujui individu.

Widjaja (2013) melakukan penelitian tentang kontrol diri dan memuja selebrtitas terhadap 35 responden usia dewasa awal (20-30 tahun) di Jakarta. Penelitian ini menghasilkan bahwa ada hubungan yang signifikan antara kontrol diri dengan memuja selebritas.

Kontrol diri sangat diperlukan pada remaja The Maczman agar terhindar dari dampak negatif memuja selebritas, berdasarkan pemaparan mengenai memuja selebritas dan kontrol diri, dan kasus penelitian terdahulu maka peneliti merancang judul hubungan antara kontrol diri dengan memuja selebritas pada Remaja The Maczman Makassar.

Berdasarkan uraian teoritis, maka hipotesis yang dirumuskan dalam penelitian ini adalah terdapat hubungan negatif antara kontrol diri dengan celebrity worship. Semakin rendah kontrol diri maka semakin tinggi celebrity worship. Sebaliknya, semakin tinggi kontrol diri maka semakin rendah celebrity worship.

METODE PENELITIANDefenisi dari variabel bebas dan

variabel terikat yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini, yaitu:

Celebrity worship dalam penelitian ini adalah bentuk pemujaan remaja The Maczman terhadap selebriti yang ditandai dengan tertarik dengan selebriti idola yaitu PSM Makassar, memasuki fansclub The Maczman, rajin menonton PSM Makassar, memikirkan PSM Makassar, dan melakukan apapun demi PSM Makassar. Celebrity worship dalam penelitian ini akan di ukur dengan menggunakan skala yang akan dibuat sendiri oleh peneliti dan mengacu pada aspek-aspek celebrity worship yang dikemukakan oleh Maltby, Giles, Barber, McCutcheon (2005).

2. Kontrol diri dalam penelitian ini yaitu kemampuan remaja The Maczman dalam mengendalikan tingkah laku yang ditandai dengan dapat melakukan pertimbangan-pertimbangan terlebih dahulu sesuai dengan norma di masyarakat, membuat keputusan dengan baik, mampu mengambil tindakan lebih efektif, dan dapat menghindari perilaku-perilaku yang tidak diinginkan di masyarakat. Kontrol diri di ukur dengan menggunakan skala yang akan dibuat sendiri oleh peneliti dan mengacu pada aspek-aspek kontrol diri yang dikemukakan oleh Averill (1973).

Penelitian ini menggunakan 124 orang laki-laki dari usia remaja akhir (18-21) The Maczman Makassar dengan teknik accidental sampling.Peneliti memberikan skala

memuja selebritas yang terdiri dari 21 aitem (uji coba 33 aitem) dan skala kontrol diri yang terdiri dari 18 aitem (uji coba 34 aitem).

Skala memuja selebritas di susun oleh peneliti berdasarkan aspek, berbentuk skala likert dan telah di validasi oleh ahli dengan nilai v bergerak dari 0,66-0,75 dan untuk validitas faktorial yang di uji dengan bantuan K-Stat menghasilkan nilai faktor loading 0,89 (entertainment social) yang berarti valid, 0,85(intense personal) yang berarti valid, dan 0,78(borderline pathological) yang berarti valid. Daya diskriminasi aitem bergerak dari 0,321-0,673. Nilai reliabilitas menghasilkan 0,887 (uji coba alat ukur) yang berarti reliabel dan 0,897 (penelitian) yang berarti reliabel.

Skala kontrol diri di susun oleh peneliti berdasarkan aspek, berbentuk skala likert dan telah di validasi oleh ahli dengan nila v bergerak dari 0,66-0,75 dan untuk validitas faktorial yang di uji dengan bantuan K-Stat menghasilkan nilai faktor loading 0,85 (kontrol perilaku) yang berarti valid, 0,74 (kontrol kognitif) berarti valid, dan 0,79(kontrol keputusan) berarti valid. Daya diskriminasi aitem bergerak dari 0,201-0,614. Nilai reliabilitas menghasilkan 0,828 (uji coba alat ukur) yang berarti reliabel dan 0,831 (penelitian) yang berarti reliabel.

Analisis deskriptif di konversikan kedalam lima kategori yaitu sangat tinggi, tinggi, sedang, rendah, dan sangat rendah. Dengan menggunakan uji hipotesis spearma brown untuk menguji korelasi antar kedua variabel dengan bantuan SPSS 16.0 for windows.

HASIL DAN PEMBAHASANSubjek dalam penelitian ini

terdiri dari 124 orang anggota The Maczman Makassar dengan rincian 41 orang yang berusia 18 tahun (33,1%), 59 orang berusia 19 tahun (47,5%), 19 orang berusia 20 tahun (15,3%), dan 5 orang berusia 21 tahun (4,1%). Usia yang paling banyak yaitu usia 19 tahun sebanyak 59 orang (47,5%) dan usia paling sedikit yaitu usia 21 tahun sebanyak 5 orang (4,1%).

Pada variabel memuja selebritas menghasilkan bahwa terdapat 80 subjek yang memiliki tingkat memuja selebritas yang sangat tinggi (64,6%), 33 orang memiliki tingkat memuja selebritas yang tinggi (26,6 %), 9 orang yang memiliki tingkat memuja selebritas yang sedang (7,3%), 1 orang yang memiliki tingkat memuja selebritas yang rendah (0,8%) dan 1 orang memiliki tingkat memuja selebritas yang sangat rendah (0,8%).

Pada variabel kontrol diri menghasilkan bahwa terdapat 1 orang yang memiliki tingkat kontrol diri yang sangat tinggi (0,8%), 7 orang memiliki tingkat kontrol diri yang tinggi (5,7%), 40 orang yang memiliki tingkat kontrol diri yang sedang (32,2%), 42 orang memiliki tingkat kontrol diri yang rendah (33,9%), dan 34 orang yang memiliki tingkat kontrol diri yang sangat rendah (27,4%).

Hasil uji hipotesis menghasilkan nilai r=-0,422(menunjukkan korelasi sedang, dan bernilai negatif) dan nilai p=0,000 (menunjukkan hubungan yang signifikan). Jadi dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat

hubungan yang sangat signifikan, negatif, dan berkorelasi sedang antara kontrol diri dengan memuja selebritas pada remaja The Maczman Makassar.

Berdasarkan hasil analisis deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar remaja The Maczman Makassar yang menjadi subjek penelitian berusia 19 Tahun dan yang paling sedikit berusia 21 tahun.

Subjek dalam penelitian ini secara umum adalah remaja, tapi karena anggota The Maczman secara resmi mulai berusia 18 tahun, maka peneliti hanya memfokuskan pada remaja akhir yaitu 18-21 Tahun. Usia yang paling banyak menjadi subjek penelitian tentang celebrity worship dan kontrol diri remaja The Maczman adalah usia 19 tahun sebanyak 59 orang dengan persentase 47,5% dan usia yang paling sedikit yakni usia 21 tahun dengan persentase 4,1%. McCutcheon, Lange, dan Houran (2002) menjelaskan bahwa celebrity worship dapat terjadi sepanjang usia individu, namun puncak dari celebrity worship berada pada masa remaja. Ghufron dan Risnawati (2011) menjelaskan bahwa semakin bertambah usia individu maka semakin baik kemampuan dalam mengontrol dirinya.

Berdasarkan hasil analisis deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar remaja The Maczman Makassar yang menjadi subjek penelitian memiliki celebrity worship dalam kategori sangat tinggi. Dilihat dari observasi lapangan, ketika berkumpul di homebase setiap anggota pasti selalu membahas tentang informasi PSM Makassar, apalagi ketika di waktu terdapat

pertandingan dan liga. Anggota The Maczman pasti selalu membahas tentang kehidupan dan perkembangan persiapan PSM Makassar dalam mengikuti liga hingga pembahasan tentang situasi lapangan dan stadion serta daerah yang akan ditempati bertanding bahkan hingga membuat strategi agar dapat maksimal dan mengumpulkan anggota The Maczman dalam jumlah banyak untuk mendukung PSM Makassar ketika pertandingan diluar daerah.

Pemujaan The Maczman tingkat celebrity worship The Maczman Makassar berada pada taraf sangat tinggi. Raviv, Bar-Tal, Raviv, dan Ben-Horin (1996) memuja merupakan bentuk kekaguman serta penghormatan individu terhadap idolanya dengan intensitas yang tidak biasa sampai ke tahap sangat menghormati. Pemujaan dapat diekspresikan dalam perilaku seperti mengumpulkan informasi dan benda-benda yang berhubungan dengan selebriti serta berusaha untuk bertemu dengan selebriti idolanya secara personal. Dalam hal ini anggota The Maczman yang selalu ada di setiap pertandingan PSM Makassar, mulai dari dalam daerah hingga diluar daerah sekalipun. Hal tersebut dilakukan agar anggota The Maczman selalu ingin bertemu dengan selebriti idolanya secara personal. Kepuasan anggota The Maczman lebih tinggi ketika menonton di lapangan dibandingkan melalui televisi.

Berdasarkan hasil analisis deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar remaja The Maczman masih memiliki taraf rata-rata kontrol diri yang rendah hingga.

Remaja yang masih memiliki kontrol diri rendah terkhusus pada remaja The Maczman membuat anggota The Maczman masih sering melakukan hal-hal yang tidak di pertimbangkan lebih matang.

Setiap bertemu dengan anggota The Maczman, anggota akan selalau membahas tentang PSM Makassar, dan tidak peduli di sekitarnya ada orang diluar keanggotaan yang merasa tidak suka akan hal tersebut, mereka tidak akan peduli. Seperti pada saat akan merayakan Anniversary yang ke-17 pada 1 Februari 2018, anggota berkumpul di Fly Over dan berjalan pawai berkeliling kota hingga pantai losari. Secara keseluruhan anggota berkumpul dan bernyanyi lagu persatuan tentang PSM Makassar, mulai di bawah flyover dengan jumlah banyak berkumpul dengan atribut serba merah membunyikan drum sambil bernyanyi, saat mulai berjalan drum berbunyi terus menerus hingga tiba di pantai losari, saling berorasi tentang PSM Makassar di Pantai Losari, tanpa peduli orang di sekitarnya. Anggota The Maczman membanggakan solidaritas komunitasnya dalam mendukung PSM Makassar tanpa ada rasa malu dan peduli akan pandangan orang banyak. Saat di Pantai Losari anggota The Maczman langsung menguasai salah satu bagian dari pantai losari tanpa memperdulikan orang sekitar yang tengah berkunjung merasa terganggu atau tidak.

Hasil analisis dan observasi peneliti terhadap beberapa social media dari The Maczman terdapat update lengkap tentang kegiatan The Maczman dan tentang pertandingan

PSM Makassar dan beberapa informasi tentang PSM Makassar. Peneliti fokus pada beberapa informasi undangan konvoi akbar, pengurus selalu mengeluarkan aturan wajib mengikuti instruksi, wajib memakai helm, dilarang berboncengan tiga, dan dilarang knalpot bogar, namun dari hasil di lapangan masih ada beberapa anggota yang menggunakan knalpot bogar dan beberapa juga tidak menggunakan helm, bahkan ada yang berdiri sambil di bonceng. Hal tersebut menunjukkan masih kurangnya anggota yang mendengar aturan dengan baik karena kontrol diri yang masih rendah. Beberapa anggota juga ada yang memirang rambutnya menjadi warna merah hingga ada yang mencat seluruh tubuhnya menjadi warna merah untuk menunjukkan pemujaannya yang sangat tinggi terhadap PSM Makassar sehingga menarik perhatian masyarakat.

Kontrol diri The Maczman Makassar yang rendah mendukung tingginya celebrity worship remaja The Maczman karena kurangnya kontrol diri dari setiap individu. Anggota The Maczman masih memiliki kontrol diri yang rendah sehingga melakukan apapun demi PSM Makassar tanpa berfikir panjang terlebih dahulu, tidak memperdulikan situasi sekitarnya yang akhirnya menunjukkan tingkat celebrity worship yang sangat tinggi. Gailliot, dkk (2007) mengemukakan bahwa kontrol diri merupakan pengendalian pikiran individu, dorongan emosi, dan perilaku. Kontrol diri bagi individu merupakan proses yang paling penting dan bermanfaat untuk struktur

kepribadian. Bukti individu berkembang dikaitkan dengan kontrol diri yang baik untuk berbagai hasil yang diinginkan, termasuk hubungan interpersonal yang baik, dan kesehatan mental yang lebih baik, serta keterampilan coping yang lebih efektif.

Pada usia remaja akhir, remaja seharusnya sudah memiliki kontrol diri yang cukup stabil jika dibandingkan dengan remaja awal. Namun, pada anggota berusia remaja akhir The Maczman, kontrol diri anggota masih saja rendah. Hal tersebut disebabkan tentang adanya perilaku konformitas yang masih mendominasi di komunitas The Maczman. Perilaku-perilaku yang tidak terkontrol dengan baik di dalam The Maczman yang masih dominan, cenderung memengaruhi anggota The Maczman. Frederika, Suprapto, dan Tanojo (2015) menjelaskan bahwa perilaku konformitas merupakan perubahan perilaku individu yang disebabkan oleh tekanan kelompok yang nyata dan dominan di kelompok tersebut.

Nilai uji hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang sangat signifikan, negatif dan berkorelasi sedang antara kontrol diri dengan celebrity worship remaja The Maczman Makassar. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi kontrol diri maka semakin rendah celebrity worship remaja The Maczman dan semakin rendah kontrol diri maka semakin tinggi celebrity worship remaja The Maczman.

Hasil penelitian ini sesuai dengan yang dipaparkan oleh Widjaja (2013) bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan natara kontrol diri dengan

celebrity worship. Tangney, Baumeister, dan Boone (2004) mengatakan bahwa individu dengan kontrol diri yang tinggi menunjukkan penyesuaian psikologis yang lebih baik. Penyesuaian psikologis atau kesehatan mental tersebut adalah gejala somatisasi, pola obsesif-kompulsif, depresi, stress, kecemasan, kemarahan, permusuhan, kecemasan fobia, ideation paranoid, dan psychoticism. Individu juga lebih memiliki penerimaan diri atau harga diri, yang sering dianggap sebagai aspek penting dari kesehatan mental. Sedangkan kontrol diri yang rendah menunjukkan kesulitan dalam penyesuaian psikologis seperti depresi, stress, mudah cemas, mudah marah, permusuhan dan menunjukan gelaja somatisasi dan lain-lain. Anggota The Maczman yang sebagian besar memiliki konrol diri yang rendah, menyebabkan semakin meningkatnya celebrity worship The Maczman tehradap PSM Makassar. Kontrol diri yang rendah, menyebabkan anggota The Maczman rela melakukan apa saja demi PSM Makassar tanpa memikirkan secara matang setiap tindakan yang dilakukan dan memperhitungkan konsekuensi dari perbuatannya.

Darfiyanti dan Putra (2012) mengemukakan bahwa semakin tinggi tingkat pemujaan seseorang, maka semakin tinggi juga tingkat keterlibatan dengan sosok yang diidolakan. Pemujaan merupakan bentuk kekaguman dengan idolanya sehingga tingkatan ini menjadi intensitas yang tidak biasa dan penghormatan sering juga disebut sebagai tingkatan pemujaan terhadap idola. Anggota The Maczman yang begitu memuja PSM Makassar akan

selalu ada mendukung PSM Makassar di setiap pertandingan di situasi apapun. Ketika PSM Makassar melakukan pertandingan di luar daerah, The Maczman akan selalu ada untuk mendukung PSM Makassar. Terbukti dari banyaknya anggota The Maczman yang hampir ada pada seluruh daerah di Indonesia meskipun berpusat di Makassar. Saat pertandingan, The Maczman akan ikut ke daerah pertandingan PSM Makassar, seperti Bali, Jakarta, Balikpapan, dll untuk menambah massa ketika mendukung PSM Makassar. Para anggota rela menghabiskan dana besar-besaran demi dapat menyaksikan pertandingan PSM Makassar secara langsung.

Kegagalan PSM Makassar menjadi kegagalan The Maczman. Kekalahan yang terjadi pada PSM Makassar akan menyebabkan kekacauan, kemarahan bagi The Maczman, apalagi ketika PSM Makassar mengalami perlakuan tidak adil hingga kekalahan, ekspresi The Maczman akan sangat kacau hingga menangis bahkan sampai bentrok antar suporter lawan karena tidak bisa menahan ejekan dari suporter lawan. Sikap itu menunjukkan besarnya pemujaan The Maczman terhadap PSM Makassar, seperti pada pertandingan di November lalu, Kekalahan PSM Makassar membuat anggota hingga jendral lapangan berinisial IC langsung turun kelapangan dan menangis histeris hingga memeluk anggota PSM Makassar. Hal tersebut menunjukkan besarnya pemujaan terhadap PSM Makassar namun masih sulit dalam mengontrol dirinya. Kedekatan antara pemain dengan The Maczman

juga terlihat dari pelukan antar pemain dengan anggota The Maczman. Berbeda ketika PSM menang, anggota The Maczman akan merasa sangat bahagia hingga berloncat-loncatan di stadion, mengangkat bendera setinggi-tingginya hingga melakukan konvoi dijalanan untuk mengekspresikan kebahagiannya.

Anggota The Maczman memiliki celebrity worship yang cenderung sangat tinggi dan kontrol diri yang masih cenderung rendah. Hal tersebut menunjukkan kesesuaian dengan rumusan masalahdari penelitian ini, namun setiap manusia tak pernah luput dari kesalahan dan kekurangan. Adapan kelemahan dalam penelitian ini, yaitu:1. Penelitian ini dilakukan terhadap

subjek berusia remaja, namun hanya berfokus pada remaja akhir saja, hal tersebut disebabkan oleh anggota The Maczman secara resmi mulai dari usia 18 tahun keatas.

2. Peneliti hanya melakukan penelitian terhadap anggota laki-laki saja disebabkan kurangnya anggota The Maczman berjenis kelamin perempuan, sehingga tidak ada perbedaan tingkat pemujaan dan kontrol diri antara perempuan dan laki-laki.

3. Tidak adanya kartu identitas anggota menyebabkan peneliti kesulitan dalam mendata anggota resmi The Maczman, sehingga peneliti harus mendata dan mengonfirmasi keanggotan terlebih dahulu kepada pengurus The Maczman.

KESIMPULAN DAN SARAN

Uji hipotesis menunjukkan terdapat hubungan yang sangat signifikan, negatif, dan berkorelasi sedang antara kontrol diri dengan celebrity worship pada remaja The Maczman di Makassar yaitu terdapat hubungan yang arahnya berlawanan, yaitu semakin rendah kontrol diri remaja The Maczman Makassar maka semakin tinggi celebrity worship atau semakin tinggi kontrol diri remaja The Maczman Makassar maka semakin rendah celebrity worship.

Anggota The Maczman disarankan untuk tetap memuja PSM Makassar akan tetapi celebrity worship The Maczman terhadap PSM Makassar harus di dukung dengan kontrol diri yang baik dari setiap diri anggota dengan cara mengukur setiap keuntungan dan kerugian dari tindakan yang akan dilakukan, sehingga ketika menonton pertandingan PSM Makassar anggota dapat bertindak lebih matang dan meminimalisir timbulnya kericuhan dengan suporter lawan serta menjadi suporter yang lebih sportif.

Pengurus The Maczman bertugas untuk mengurus segala kegiatan yang dilakukan The Maczman, menjaga solidaritas antar anggota dan mengontrol suporter dalam setiap pertandingan sehingga bisa mendukung PSM Makassar dalam jalur yang benar. Pengurus disarankan untuk menjadikan hasil penelitian ini sebagai dasar untuk menjaga setiap anggota terkhusus yang memiliki kontrol diri yang rendah ketika pertandingan PSM Makassar, sehingga dapat meminimalisir terjadinya hal-hal yang tidak diinginkan di lapangan, seperti ricuh, dll. Pengurus juga

disarankan untuk membuat kartu keanggotaan agar lebih mudah mendata dan lebih mudah menjaga anggota The Maczman saat pertandingan PSM Makassar berlangsung.

Saran untuk peneliti selanjutnya yaitu:a. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada

remaja akhir saja karena disebebkan anggota The Macz Man resmi dimulai dari usia 18 Tahun ke Atas. Untuk peneliti selanjutnya, jika ingin melakukan penelitian tentang celebrity worship pada remaja disarankan melakukan penelitian dengan mengganti subjek penelitian yang memiliki subjek mulai dari remaja awal hingga akhir, sehingga peneliti selanjutnya dapat membandingkan perbedaan celebrity worship pada remaja awal, remaja tengah, dan remaja akhir.

b. Penelitian ini menggunakan subjek penelitian berjenis kelamin laki-laki karena disebebkan kurangnya jumlah anggota resmi The Maczman yang berjenis kelamin perempuan. Disarankan untuk peneliti selanjutnya untuk mencoba melakukan penelitian terhadap anggota The Maczman yang berjenis kelamin perempuan namun menggunakan metode kualitatif agar mampu mengumpulkan data dan dapat menggali lebih dalam terkait celebrity worship The Maczman terhadap PSM Makassar.

THE RELATIONSHIP BEETWEEN SELF-CONTROL WITH CELEBRITY WORSHIP TO ADOLESCENT OF THE MACZMAN

ABSTRACTThe low self-control to adolescent of the Maczman led to the high the Maczman's worship to PSM Makassar which is not in accordance with the norm in the society. The purpose of this study is to know whether there is relationship between self-control with celebrity worship to to adolescent of The Maczman Makassar. Subject of this study as many as 124 boys of The Maczman’s member obtained through accidental sampling technique. Data analysis technique used in this research is Spearman Brown. While the result of correlation coefisient analysis between the two variables, r=-0,422 with significance value p= 0,000 which menas that there is very significant relationship, negative, and moderately correlated between self-control with celebrity worship to adolescent of The Maczman Makassar. This study illustrates that the lower of self control, the higher celebrity worship to adolescent of the The Maczman Makassar. Thus, this study can be used as an evaluation in order to members are able to control themselves so that become more sportif supporter.

Adolescents are individuals who are still at the stage of seeking self-identity. In this stage, teenagers will look for model figure to be role model for individual self to be able to plunge and interact to society. The growing entertainment industry in Indonesia has led to the emergence of new public figures, for example athletes. Thanks to the advancement

of technology and mass media, the achievements and everyday lives of athletes have become public and increasingly idolized by society. This sparked the emergence of a diverse community of fans especially towards athletes.

Football is one of the most sought after sports in Makassar. This is evidenced by the largest number of

fans who bersabung in one community namely The Maczman which is a fan community PSM Makassar club. Based on the results of the data base members who were obtained from the Secretary General of The Maczman in Makassar, a member of The Maczman for Makassar region has been recorded since 2001 approximately 12,000 members until 2015.

The Maczman often shows its existence in every PSM Makassar game. The Maczman is always involved in every game to support and provide support to PSM Makassar to out-of-town matches such as Jakarta, Bali, etc. The Maczman's totality of PSM Makassar also shows up when it comes to matches, starting with a convoy on the way when going to watch the game, when the match takes place the songs do not stop singing to support PSM Makassar, wearing The Maczman clothes with all the attributes and symbols PSM Makassar, to do body painting to maximize the action. The endless support of The Maczman is a manifestation of the Maczman worship of PSM Makassar.

Maltby, Giles, Barber, McCutcheon (2005) explains that celebrity worship is a picture of the individual's obsessive behavior in which the individual strives to always be involved in the life of the idol so that it often takes part in the life of his idol everyday. Darfiyanti and Putra (2012) suggest that the higher the level of a person's worship, the higher the level of engagement with the idolized figure. This confirms that the worship of The Maczman against PSM

Makassar is characterized by always being involved in the activities of PSM Makassar, ranging from information about PSM Makassar which is always updated in every social media and group chat The Maczman.

Maltby, Giles, Barber, and McCutcheon (2005) suggest that there are three aspects of celebrity worship:a. Social entertainment is a

motivation in the individual to continue to search information about his favorite celebrity.

b. Personal intense is a reflection of intensive and compulsive feelings towards celebrities.

c. Borderline pathological is the state of the individual who is willing to pass anything for the sake of his favorite celebrity, this tends to be uncontrolled and become irrational.Sunarni (2016) conducted a study

about celebrity worship in the city of Yogyakarta. The study was conducted on 164 high school age youth in the city of Yogyakarta. The study found that most high school adolescents in the city of Yogyakarta experienced celebrity worship in the social enternaitnment aspect of 52.44%.

The Maczman worship of PSM Makassar is huge, but the worship of The Maczman is increasingly being overwhelmed by the habit of every member doing things out of control without thinking long beforehand. Members of The Maczman are very easily provoked and easy tegoda to perform negative actions against opponents when PSM Makassar lost and felt injustice, such as when the situation in the stadium began to heat

up, members of The Maczman difficult to resist emotional impulse so as to cause behaviors that are inconsistent with PSSI rules. It shows that the Maczman members did not have good self-control and caused The Maczman to support excessive PSM Makassar, according to the theory by Baumeister (2002) argued that self-control is a monitoring process that regulates or controls behavior to conform to the norms and rules apply. Self-control can also be interpreted as the capacity to change. Individuals who have good self-control tend to behave based on beliefs, values, and long-term benefits to be gained.

Averill (1973) put forward three aspects of self-control:

a. Behavior control is the readiness of a response that can directly affect or modify an unpleasant situation.

b. Cognitive control is the ability of individuals used to manage unwanted information.

c. Controlling decisions is one's ability to choose actions based on what the individual believes or agrees with.Widjaja (2013) conducted a study

on self-control and celebrity worship against 35 respondents of early adult age (20-30 years) in Jakarta. This study found that there is a significant relationship between self-control by celebrity worship.

Self-control is indispensable for the adolescent of The Maczman to avoid the negative effects of celebrity worship, based on the exposure of celebrity and self-control, and the case of previous research, the researchers designed the title of the relationship between

self-control with celebrity worship to adolescent of The Maczman Makassar.

Based on the theoretical description, the hypothesis formulated in this study is there is a negative relationship between self-control with celebrity worship. The lower the self control the higher the celebrity worship. Conversely, the higher the self-control the lower the celebrity worship.

RESEARCH METHODSThe definitions of the independent

variables and dependent variables used in this study are:

1. Celebrity worship in this research is the form of adolescent worship of The Maczman towards celebrity marked by attracted by idol celebrity that is PSM Makassar, enters fansclub The Maczman, diligently watch PSM Makassar, think PSM Makassar, and do anything for PSM Makassar. Celebrity worship in this study will be measured by using a scale that will be made by the researchers themselves and refers to aspects of celebrity worship proposed by Maltby, Giles, Barber, McCutcheon (2005).

2. Self-control in this research is the ability of adolescents The Maczman in controlling behavior is characterized by can do considerations in advance in accordance with the norms in society, make decisions well, able to take action more effectively, and can avoid the behaviors undesirable in society. Self-control is measured using a scale to be made by the researcher himself and refers to self-control aspects proposed by Averill

(1973).This study used 124 men from last adolescent (18-21) of The Maczman Makassar with accidental sampling technique. Researchers gave the scale of the celebrity worship consisting of 21 items (trial 33 aitem) and self-control scale consisting of 18 items (trial 34 aitem).

The scale of worship of celebrities in stacking by the researchers based on aspects, Likert-scale and has been validated by experts with the value of moving from 0.66 to 0.75 and for factorial validity tested with the help of K-Stat resulted in a factor loading factor of 0.89 (entertainment social) which means valid, 0.85 (intense personal) which means valid, and 0.78 (borderline pathological) which means valid. The discriminating power of the aitem is moving from 0.321-0.673. The value of the relation yields 0.887 (test of measuring instrument) which means reliable and 0.897 (research) which means reliable.

The scale of self control is arranged by the researcher based on the aspect, in the form of likert scale and has been validated by the expert with indigo v moves from 0.66 to 0.75 and for factorial validity tested with the help of K-Stat yields a loading factor factor of 0.85 (behavior control) which means valid, 0.74 (cognitive control) means valid, and 0.79 (decision control) means valid. The discriminating power of the aitem is moving from 0.201 to 0.614. The value of the relation yields 0.828 (test of measuring instrument) which means reliable and 0.831 (research) which means reliable.

Descriptive analysis is converted into five categories: very high, high, medium, low, and very low. By using spearman brown hypothesis test to test the correlation between the two variables with the help of SPSS 16.0 for windows.

RESULTS AND DISCUSSIONSubjects in this study consisted of

124 members of The Maczman Makassar with details of 41 people aged 18 years (33.1%), 59 people aged 19 years (47.5%), 19 people aged 20 years (15.3%) , and 5 persons aged 21 years (4.1%). The most aged age is 19 years old as many as 59 people (47.5%) and age at least 21 years old as many as 5 people (4.1%).

In celebrity worship variables, there were 80 subjects who had a very high level of celebrity worship (64.6%), 33 people had high celebrating rates (26.6%), 9 people who had a level of celebrity worship (7 , 3%), 1 person who has a low level of celebrity (0.8%) and 1 person has a very low level of celebrity (0.8%).

In self-control variables, there was 1 person with very high self-control level (0.8%), 7 people had high self-control level (5.7%), 40 persons with moderate self-control level (32 , 2%), 42 people had low self-control (33.9%), and 34 people with very low self-control (27.4%).

The result of hypothesis test yields r = -0,422 (shows moderate correlation, and negative value) and p value = 0,000 (indicates significant relationship). So it can be concluded that there is a very significant, negative, and moderately correlated relationship between self-control by

adoring celebrities in the Macgman Makassar adolescent.

Based on the results of descriptive analysis shows that most adolescent The Maczman Makassar who became the subject of research aged 19 years and the least 21-year-old.

Subjects in this study were generally adolescent, but because members of The Maczman officially began to turn 18, the researchers focused only on the final adolescent that is 18-21 years. The age of the most subjects of research on celebrity worship and self-control adolescent The Maczman is the age of 19 years as many as 59 people with the percentage of 47.5% and the least age ie 21 years with a percentage of 4.1%. McCutcheon, Lange, and Houran (2002) explain that celebrity worship can occur throughout the ages of individuals, but the peak of celebrity worship is in adolescence. Ghufron and Risnawati (2011) explains that the increasing age of the individual the better the ability to control himself.

Based on the results of descriptive analysis shows that most adolescent. The Maczman Makassar who became the subject of research has the celebrity worship in very high category. Viewed from field observations, when gathered in the homebase of each member must always discuss about the information PSM Makassar, especially when in time there are matches and league. Members of The Maczman must always discuss about the life and development of PSM Makassar preparation in following the league up to the discussion about the field situation and the stadium and the area that will be occupied even

compete to make the strategy to maximum and collect the members of The Maczman in large numbers to support PSM Makassar when the game outside the area.

The Maczman worship level of worship The Maczman Makassar is at a very high level. Raviv, Bar-Tal, Raviv, and Ben-Horin (1996) adore a form of admiration and individual respect for his idol with an unusual intensity to the stage of great respect. Veneration can be expressed in behaviors such as gathering information and objects related to celebrities and trying to meet with personal celebrity idols. In this case the members of The Maczman who always exist in every game PSM Makassar, ranging from within the region to outside the area though. This is done so that members of The Maczman always want to meet with his personal idol celebrities. The Maczman members' satisfaction is higher when watching on the pitch than on television.

Based on the results of descriptive analysis shows that most teenagers The Maczman still has a low level of average self-control until. Teenagers who still have low self-control especially in the adolescent The Maczman make the members of The Maczman still often do things that are not considered more mature.

Every time you meet the members of The Maczman, the members will always discuss about the Makassar PSM, and no matter around there are people outside the membership who do not like it, they will not care. As it will celebrate its 17th Anniversary on February 1, 2018, members gather at Fly Over and walk the parade around town to the beach of Losari.

Overall the members gathered and sang a union song about PSM Makassar, started under the flyover with a large number gathered with red all-star attribute drum while singing, when started running drums rang continuously until arriving at losari beach, berorasi singing about PSM Makassar at Losari Beach , regardless of the people around him. Members of The Maczman boast of community solidarity in supporting Makassar's PSM without any shame and caring about the views of the crowd. While in Losari Beach members of The Maczman directly controlled one part of the beach losari without paying attention to people who are visiting disturbed or not.

The results of the analysis and observation of researchers on some social media from The Maczman there is a complete update about the activities of The Maczman and about PSM Makassar game and some information about PSM Makassar. The researcher focused on some invitees of the big convoy, the caretaker always issued the mandatory rules to follow the instructions, was obliged to wear a helmet, banned three, and banned exhaust, but from the field results there were some members who used the exhaust puffs and some did not use helmets, some even stand while in bonceng. This shows that there is still a lack of members who hear the rules well because of the low self-control. Some members are also there who celebrate his hair into a red color until there is a painting of his entire body into a red color to show his very high worship of

Makassar PSM so attract the public's attention.

The Maczman Makassar's low self-control supports the high celebrity worship of The Maczman teenagers because of the lack of self-control of every individual. Members of The Maczman still have low self-control so doing anything for the sake of PSM Makassar without thinking long before, do not care about the surrounding situation that finally shows the level of celebrity worship is very high. Gailliot, et al (2007) argued that self-control is the control of individual minds, emotional impulses, and behavior. Self-control for the individual is the most important and beneficial process for the personality structure. Evidence of growing individuals is associated with good self-control for the desired outcomes, including good interpersonal relationships, and better mental health, as well as more effective coping skills.

In late adolescence, adolescents should already have fairly stable self-control when compared with early adolescents. However, in the late teenage members of The Maczman, self-control members are still low. This is due to the behavior of conformity that still dominates in the community of The Maczman. Uncontrollable behaviors in the dominant The Maczman tend to influence members of The Maczman. Frederika, Suprapto, and Tanojo (2015) explain that the behavior of conformity is a change in individual behavior caused by the real and dominant group pressure in the group.

The value of the hypothesis test shows that there is a very significant,

negative and correlated relationship between self-control with the adult celebrity worship of The Maczman Makassar. These results indicate that the higher the self-control the lower the adolescent worship of The Maczman and the lower self-control then the higher the adolescent worship of The Maczman.

The results of this study in accordance with that presented by Widjaja (2013) that there is a significant relationship natara self control with celebrity worship. Tangney, Baumeister, and Boone (2004) say that individuals with high self-control exhibit better psychological adjustments. This psychological or mental health adjustment is a symptom of somatization, obsessive-compulsive patterns, depression, stress, anxiety, anger, hostility, anxiety phobias, paranoid ideation, and psychoticism. Individuals also have more self-acceptance or self-esteem, which is often regarded as an important aspect of mental health. While low self-control shows difficulties in psychological adjustment such as depression, stress, easy anxiety, irritability, hostility and show gelaja somatisasi and others. Members of The Maczman who mostly have a low self-control, leading to the increasing celebrity worship The Maczman tehradap PSM Makassar. Low self-control, causing members of The Maczman willing to do anything for the sake of PSM Makassar without thinking carefully every action taken and take into account the consequences of his actions.

Darfiyanti and Putra (2012) suggest that the higher the level of a

person's worship, the higher the level of engagement with the idolized figure. Worship is a form of admiration with his idol so that this level becomes an unusual intensity and respect is often referred to as the idol worshiping level. Members of The Maczman who adores the PSM Makassar will always support PSM Makassar in every game in any situation. When PSM Makassar did a match outside the region, The Maczman will always be there to support PSM Makassar. Evident from the many members of The Maczman which is almost there in all regions in Indonesia although based in Makassar. During the match, The Maczman will join the PSM Makassar area, such as Bali, Jakarta, Balikpapan, etc. to increase the masses when supporting PSM Makassar. The members are willing to spend massive funds to be able to watch the game PSM Makassar directly.

The failure of Makassar PSM became the failure of The Maczman. The defeat that happened to PSM Makassar will cause chaos, anger for The Maczman, especially when PSM Makassar experience unfair treatment until defeat, expression of The Maczman will be very chaotic to cry even to clash between supporter opponent because can not resist ridicule from supporter opponent. The attitude shows the magnitude of the worship of The Maczman against PSM Makassar, as in the match in November, PSM Makassar defeat to make members of the IC field berinisial direct field down and crying hysterically to embrace the members of PSM Makassar. It shows the magnitude of worship of

Makassar PSM but still difficult in controlling him. The closeness between players with The Maczman is also seen from the hug between players with members of The Maczman. Unlike when PSM wins, members of The Maczman will feel very happy to jump in the stadium, raising flags as high as to make a convoy on the way to express their happiness.

Members of The Maczman have a very high degree of worship celebrity and self-control that still tend to be low. It indicates conformity with the problem formulation of this research, yet every human being never escapes error and deficiency. The weaknesses in this research are:

1. This study was conducted on the subject of teenagers, but only focuses on the final teenager alone, it is caused by members of The Maczman officially start from the age of 18 years and above.

2. Researchers only conduct research on male members alone due to lack of members of The Maczman female sex, so there is no difference in the level of worship and self-control between women and men.

3. The absence of a member's identity card caused the researcher difficulty in listing the official members of The Maczman, so the researcher had to register and confirm the membership to The Maczman's board.

CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONSConclusion

Hypothesis test shows there is a very significant, negative, and correlated relationship between self-

control with celebrity worship in adolescence The Maczman in Makassar that there is a relationship in the opposite direction, ie the lower self-control teenagers The Maczman Makassar hence the higher celebrity worship or higher adolescent self-control The Maczman Makassar hence the lower celebrity worship.

Members of The Maczman are advised to continue to worship the Makassar PSM but the worship worship of The Maczman against PSM Makassar must be supported with good self-control of each member by measuring every profit and loss of action to be done, so that when watching the PSM Makassar member can act more mature and minimize the incidence of riot with supporters of the opponent as well as a more sportive supporters.

The Maczman committee is in charge of taking care of all activities conducted by The Maczman, maintaining solidarity among members and controlling supporters in every game so as to support Makassar PSM on the right track. The board is advised to make the results of this research as a basis to keep each member in particular who has low self-control when PSM Makassar match, so as to minimize the occurrence of undesirable things in the field, such as chaos, etc. The board is also advised to create membership cards to make it easier to record and easier to keep members of The Maczman during PSM Makassar match.

Suggestions for further researchers are:a. This study was conducted in late

adolescence only because disebebkan members of The Macz

Man officially started from the age of 18 years and over. For further research, if you want to do research about celebrity worship in adolescents, it is suggested to do research by substituting research subject with subject from teenager to end, so that the next researcher can compare difference of celebrity worship in early adolescence, middle adolescent, and final teenager.

b. This study uses the subject of research male sex because disebebkan lack of number of official members of The Maczman female sex.
