forbidden that which Allah has made lawful to

thee? Thou seekest to please thy consorts. ButAllah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

066.002 Allah has already ordained for you, (Omen), the dissolution of your oaths (in some

cases): and Allah is your Protector, and He is Full

066.006 O ye who believe! save yourselves andyour families from a Fire whose fuel is Men andStones, over which are (appointed) angels stern

(and) severe, who flinch not (from executing) theCommands they receive from Allah, but do

(precisely) what they are commanded.

066.007 (They will say), "O ye Unbelievers! Makeno excuses this Day! Ye are being but requited for

Unbelievers, the wife of Noah and the wife of Lut:they were (respectively) under two of our

righteous servants, but they were false to their(husbands), and they profited nothing before Allahon their account, but were told: "Enter ye the Fire

along with (others) that enter!"

066.001 O Prophet! Why do you forbid that which

Allah has made lawful for you? You seek to pleaseyour wives? But Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most

Merciful.

The Messenger prohibited a kind of honey onhimself because of his wives.

Impossible that the messenger would legalizesomething prohibited for himself.

The status of the Messenger and the impact thisdecision may have had.

066.003 When the Prophet disclosed a matter in confidence to one of hiswives, and she then divulged it (to another), and Allah made it known to

him, he disclosed some of it and passed over some of it. Then when he toldher thereof, she said, "Who told you this? "He said, "He told me Who knows

and is well-acquainted (with all things)."

Closer you are, more you know- Mutual trust

Surah An-Nisa- the attribute of a believing wife.

The Messenger performs his role of leader of thehouse but in the most lenient way.

066.004 If the two of you turn in repentance to Him, your hearts areindeed so inclined; But if you back up each other against him, trulyAllah is his Protector, and Gabriel, and (every) righteous one amongthose who believe,- and furthermore, the angels - will back (him) up.

Addresses both- the one divulging and the one

listeningThe strictness in language is due to their status

066.005 It may be, if he divorced you (all), that Allah will give him inexchange consorts better than you,- who submit (their wills), whobelieve, who are devout, who turn to Allah in repentance, who worship

(in humility), who travel (for Faith) and fast,- previously married orvirgins.

Incident of Ila;- The Messenger couldnt meet the demands of his

wives considering the weight of the world was on hisshoulders.

- The azwaaj had these attirbutes!

- Strictness so they maintain these attributes anddont take them for granted.

Understanding and living the concept of Islamengenders a love and compassion for the

creation that was embodied in the person ofthe Messenger SAW and a reflection of thatwas seen in his relationship with his wives;

where it would, at times be necessary that areminder from his Protector and Friendpreclude the possibility of the slightest

injustice.

Every one of you is a shepherdPositive reinforcement in Al-Furqan.

The day where you will be running away fromyour own families

You thrust them in the fire; deluded intothinking that it was out of love. Those incharge over the fire have no love or mercy.

066.007 (They will say), "O ye Unbelievers! Make no excuses this Day!

Ye are being but requited for all that ye did!"

066.008 O ye who believe! Turn to Allah with

sincere repentance:

Imagine a person in a desert

The Messenger:

Four levels of returning:

Of a disbeliever

Of a sinner

Three prerequisites:

Severe remorse

Determined resolve

Discontinue the act

Apologize

5th comes from Ali: sink in the obedience ofAllah just like you were drowned in sins

Imagine if a spoiled brat, gangster, fugitivecomes back home to his mother

Allah loves those who turn to Him constantly

004.026 Allah wants to make clear to you and to show you the

way of those before you; and turn to you (In Mercy): And Allah isAll-knowing, All-wise.

004.027 Allah wants to Turn to you, but the wish of those whofollow their lusts is that you should turn away (from Him),- far, far

away.

066.008 In the hope that your Lord will remove

from you your ills and admit you to Gardensbeneath which Rivers flow,- the Day that Allahwill not permit to be humiliated the Prophet

and those who believe with him. Their Lightwill run forward before them and by their righthands, while they say, "Our Lord! Perfect our

Light for us, and grant us Forgiveness: for Thouhast power over all things."
