1. STEPS FOR USING STANDARDIZE DRAWING FOR PRECAST BEAM

1.1 The designer shall prepare layout which contain information for beam, slab column, half joint and nib.

1.2 This guideline specifies how to incorporate precast beam from tables into the layout.

1.3 There are 3 types of precast beam in the JKR IBS CATALOGUE VERSION 2: 2016:

i. Rectangular Beam

ii. Inverted T Beam

iii. L Shape Beam

1.4 The designer shall determine item as follows:

The type of beam and beam size will be used in the project

Design data values as required by the code:

i. Design Moment (Mu)

ii. Design shear (V)

1.5 The designer shall refer to Precast Beam Catalogue (drawing no JKR.CKAS/P-IBS/PEL 15/……. ) for

the specified type of moment and type of shear to get the beam designation.

1.6 All the information for detailing reinforcement bar, links and related information for the beam can be

found in the specified drawing.

Precast Rectangular Beam

The designer's data:

Type of beam : Rectangular Beam

Beam size : 300 x 500 (mm)

Maximum moment capacity, Mu: 150 kNm

Maximum shear capacity, Vu: 200 kN

STEP 1: The type of beam and beam size will be used to identify the specific drawing

to be referred.

STEP 2: In this example, for the Rectangular beam size 300 x 500 (mm), the related drawing

from the catalogue :

referring to the Maximum moment capacity, Mu (For this example Mu:150 kNm) and Maximum shear

capacity, Vu (For this example Vu:200 kN)

STEP 4: The designation that will be used in this case is BR-3050-1520. This designation also will be

used as a marking in beam layout.

STEP 5: As shown in Figure 1, the required reinforcement for main bar of the beam are:

a) Top reinforcement bar: 2T16 for T1, 2T16 for T2

b) Bottom reinforcement bar : 4T20 for B1

c) Link that will be using for this beam are :

i. T10-200 for L1

ii. T10-200 for L2

iii. 2T10@100 c/c for L3

d) Detail for link and lifting hook refer to table in Figure 3 below:

STEP 2: In this example, for the Inverted T beam size 400 x 600 (mm), the related drawing

from the catalogue :

used as a marking in beam layout.

STEP 5: As shown in Figure 4, the required reinforcement for main bar of the beam are:

a) Top reinforcement bar: 2T20 for T1, 2T20 for T2 and 2T20 for T3

b) Bottom reinforcement bar : 4T25 for B1 and 4T25 for B2

c) Link that will be using for this beam are :

i. T10-250 for L1 & L2 for X,

ii. T10-300 for L2 & L2 for Y

iii. 2T10@100 c/c for L3

d) Detail for link and lifting hook refer to table in Figure 6 below:

Beam size : 300 x 700 (mm)

STEP 1: The type of beam and beam size will be used to identify the specific drawing

to be referred.

STEP 2: In this example, for the L Shape beam size 300 x 700 (mm), the related drawing

from the catalogue :

b) Bottom reinforcement bar: 3T25 for B1 and 3T25 for B2

Type of Precast Half Slab are based on slab thickness (mm)

a. HS-1215 – 1200mm(W) x 150mm (HT)

b. HS-1220 – 1200mm(W) x 200mm (HT)

c. HS-1225 – 1200mm(W) x 250mm (HT)

CONTOH PENGGUNAAN: HALF SLAB

Precast Half Slab

The designer's data:

Thickness of Precast Half Slab (HT) : 150 mm

Maximum bending moment (Mnon-comp) : 8.0 kNm

Maximum bending moment (Mcomp) : 20.0 kNm

STEP 1: The type of slab and slab thickness will be used to identify the specific drawing

to be referred.

STEP 2: In this example, for the Half slab with thickness 150 (mm), the related drawing

from the catalogue :

Precast Half SlabSTEP 3: From the drawing, the designer has to identify which designation of half slab should be used

by referring to the Maximum bending moment, Mnon-comp (For this example Mnon-comp: 8.8 kNm) and

Maximum bending moment, Mcomp (For this example Mcomp: 22.1 kNm)

STEP 4: The designation that will be used in this case is HS-1215. This designation also will be used as

a marking in slab layout.

STEP 5: As shown in above, bar reinforcement T1 is T10-150 and T2 is T10-200 for designation half

slab type HS-1215 (drawing no. JKR/CKAS/P-IBS/PEL 15/HS-1215/H 01)
