1. STEPS FOR USING STANDARDIZE DRAWING FOR PRECAST BEAM

1.1 The designer shall prepare layout which contain information for beam, slab column, half joint and nib.

1.2 This guideline specifies how to incorporate precast beam from tables into the layout.

1.3 There are 3 types of precast beam in the JKR IBS CATALOGUE VERSION 2: 2016:

i. Rectangular Beam

ii. Inverted T Beam

iii. L Shape Beam

1.4 The designer shall determine item as follows:

The type of beam and beam size will be used in the project

Design data values as required by the code:

i. Design Moment (Mu)

ii. Design shear (V)

referring to the Maximum moment capacity, Mu (For this example Mu:150 kNm) and Maximum shear

1.1 The designer shall prepare layout which contain information for beam, slab

column, half joint and nib.

1.2 This guideline specifies how to incorporate Precast Half Slab from tables into the layout.

1.3 The designer shall determine item as follows:

Design data values as required by the code:

Design Moment, M kNm

a. Mnon-comp – Installation Stage

b. Mcomp – Final Stage

Type of Precast Half Slab are based on slab thickness (mm)

a. HS-1215 – 1200mm(W) x 150mm (HT)

b. HS-1220 – 1200mm(W) x 200mm (HT)

c. HS-1225 – 1200mm(W) x 250mm (HT)

Precast Half SlabSTEP 3: From the drawing, the designer has to identify which designation of half slab should be used

by referring to the Maximum bending moment, Mnon-comp (For this example Mnon-comp: 8.8 kNm) and

Maximum bending moment, Mcomp (For this example Mcomp: 22.1 kNm)

STEP 4: The designation that will be used in this case is HS-1215. This designation also will be used as

a marking in slab layout.

STEP 5: As shown in above, bar reinforcement T1 is T10-150 and T2 is T10-200 for designation half

slab type HS-1215 (drawing no. JKR/CKAS/P-IBS/PEL 15/HS-1215/H 01)
