A young boy entered the newspaper office. He walked straight to the editor.

Akmal : I read in your newspaper about the baby boy with a hole in his heart.

He needs RM25, 000 for an operation. I am donating all my savings.

Editor : Do your parents know about th is ? Where do you live?

Then, the young boy took out an old coin box and poured all the coins

on the table.

Editor : That’s a lot of money for a young boy to donate. What’s your name?

Akmal : My name is Akmal Hakim bin Affendi and I am eleven years old. I

study at SK Tanah Rata. My parents are out of town for a few days.

Don’t worry about them. They always donate money to the poor and

needy. I live at 272 Carnation Park, Tanah Rata.

Four months later Akmal received a letter. It said, “Thank you very much

for your donation. The operation was successful. Our baby is healthy now.”

Akmal read the note many times. He said to his parents, “This is a letter of great

joy.” He slipped the letter into his money box. “Now my coin box is no longer

empty. It is full again. It is filled with great joy.”
