MORJAN - THE SPANISH MAGAZINE IN ARABIC

MORJAN is the only Spanish magazine addressed to the Arab audience that promotes an elegant and exclusive lifestyle through the articles, interviews, and special features that tie together our cultures and interests.

We seek to create a perfect balance for our readers featuring both a wide range of services and luxury goods and up-to-date information on society, lifestyle, restaurants, tourism, leisure and famous people.

The name of the magazine (“Morjan”) means “Coral” in Arabic and evokes associations related to elegance, quality and exclusivity in the reader's mind. Coral is “a cherished and desired object”.

The Arab community that resides in Spain, particularly in the Costa del Sol, is the desired clientele for local businesses. They are young consumers with high purchasing power who are loyal supporters of major brands, new technologies, cars and luxury goods in general.

The increase of tourism from the Arab countries in the Costa del Sol was 20% in 2014 and it is expected to grow between 20% and 35% within the next two years. Conflicts in North Africa further promote this growth, as countries like Egypt or Tunisia generate millions of tourists who prefer to go to countries like Spain.

According to data from Costa del Sol Tourist Office, these travelers enjoy a high purchasing power and may spend up to €2000 per day. Moreover, according to the same Office - formerly known as the Tourist Board, - Arab tourists visit the country for a more prolonged period of time staying here for at least 10 days while tourists from other countries remain in the country for half of that period. According to a study of Dnata, one of the leading tour operators in these source markets, they stay in the Costa del Sol longer than in Madrid or Ibiza, making it the fourth most popular destination in Spain.

The province of Malaga, especially Marbella and its adjacent area - a triangle it forms with Estepona and Benahavis, - ranked as the third most popular destination among travelers from the Middle East, surpassed only by Madrid and Barcelona.

In recent years, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, that are usually present on our market, were joined by Qatar and the UAE, while Morocco has also started to actively expand its presence.

MORJAN publishes quarterly (4 issues per year: spring, summer, fall, and winter). We distribute 5000 copies of each issue.

Our magazine is distributed on the Costa del Sol and at selected locations in Barcelona, Majorca and Alicante. It is also distributed in Morocco (Beirut, Tangier, Rabat and Casablanca) and at some locations in Kuwait, Qatar and Dubai.

You can find the magazine at the 5 star hotels, the best restaurants, shops and boutiques, private hospitals and clinics, shopping and leisure centers... in short, at places of interest for tourists with high purchasing power.
