Peripheral ischaemia: case reportA 51-year-old woman, whose history included alcoholic

cirrhosis, portal hypertension and chronic renal failure,presented to an emergency department with upperdigestive tract bleeding. She received IV terlipressin4 mg/24 hours and developed cyanosis of the toes on thethird day after treatment [duration of treatment to reactiononset not clearly stated]. Terlipressin was immediatelydiscontinued, but her cyanosis progressed to ischaemia ofthe feet with tissue damage. She also developed acute renalfailure and hepatic encephalopathy.
