AMU SURVEY PLAN

OBJECTIVEo To understand the antimicrobial usage in the Malaysian aquaculture industry.

PRINCIPLEo Initial surveillance will be based on the preliminary data on the AM usage surveillance.o Preliminary data then can be used to design the national AM surveillance programo Establish the antimicrobial usage distribution in the industry.

AMU SURVEILLANCE

o Passive surveillance• Done on 4th of August 2017 in MATRADE Exhibition Hall, Kuala Lumpur.• Participated by 106 participants consisting mainly of farmers, feed and drug

suppliers and aquatic health professionals.• It involves an awareness session before on-hand guidance in answering the

questionnaires.• Questionnaires are modified, cleaned to suit the Malaysian local situation.

o Active surveillance• Implementation by investigating targeted farms.• Targeted farms are based on the obtained baseline data.• The investigation will be based on the same questionnaire.
