PENDEKATAN ALTERNATIF CREATIVE ARTS THERAPY

• Sesetengah individu amat sukar meluahkan secara lisan, sukar untuk menyatakan perasaan dalaman, tidak tahu perkataan yang sesuai dan tepat untuk menggambarkan pengalaman yang tidak menyenangkan.

• Komunikasi lisan semata-semata kadang-kadang meletihkan, menghalang proses komunikasi.

• CAT mampu meneroka secara mendalam isu-isu yang tersembunyi, tidak disedari, diabaikan, tidak disukai - powerful

KENAPA CREATIVE ARTS THERAPY • Proses simbolik yang bermakna, tepat dan sukar

diteroka secara lisan.

• Contain/container : lebih meluas (sailing with arts).

• Penekanan kepada proses art-making bukan pada nilai estetika produk seni.

• Penggunaan bahan konkrik (didepan mata) secara simbolik mewakili diri, keluarga, orang penting dalam kehidupan harian, peristiwa, pengalaman pahit manis, suka duka dan kenangan lalu.

• Meneroka isu-isu tersembunyi, tidak tahu, mahu dilupakan atau yang tersimpan tanpa sedar.

• Pluralism : Being commited to try my best, and to understand and accept the positions of people who have different ideas (McLeod, 2011).
