It is the goal primary, secondary and tertiary effluent treatment is to

reduce or remove organic matter, solids, nutrient, disease-causing

organism and other pollutants from the treated waste water before it is

discharged to a body of water

It is functions to achieve local, regional, and state solid waste

reduction or diversion goals, saves landfill space, saves energy, reduces

air and water pollution risks, also helps in conserving natural resources,

can reduces landfill disposal fees, produces reusable products and generates revenue from sale of

B (4) •Waste water treatment in oxidation ponds is reliant upon naturally occurring communities of algae and bacteria, which make up the photosynthesis oxygenation cycle.

•Algal photosynthesis provides oxygen, which drives bacterial decomposition of organic waste.

•The products of the waste decomposition are in turn assimilated into algal cells.

•These algae then produce more oxygen through photosynthesis to continue the cycle .

•There are several reasons of why the oxidation point was built far away from the neighbourhood :a)Plants shall be located near to a public road that allows immediate access from it to the plant. b)Plants shall be sited away from religious centers. Plants shall be located away from eating places
