BINA PURI IN TIE-UP WITH ISKANDAR INVESTMENT TODEVELOP MEDINI SQUARE, JOHOR

On 7th September 2010 Bina Puri Holdings Bhdentered into a JV agreement with Medini LandSdn Bhd, a unit of Iskandar Investment Bhd (IIB)to develop Medini Square in the state of Johor,Malaysia.

Medini Square will have 1.05 million square feetof gross floor area with the development value inexcess of RM500 million.

Under the agreement, Bina Puri will build retail,shop-offices and two 23-storey towers, eachcomprising small office/home office (SOHO) andoffice units.

Bina Puri was represented by its chairman, Dato’Ir. Wong Foon Meng. Meanwhile IIB wasrepresented by its president and chief executiveofficer, Puan Arlida Ariff.

KLIA2 GROUND-BREAKING CEREMONY By: Badrun Arshad

The construction of the new terminal for low costcarriers was officially commenced following aground-breaking ceremony launched by thePrime Minister YAB Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Tun HjAbdul Razak on 30 August 2010 at the projectsite in Sepang.

The ceremony saw the unveiling of the new nameof the LCCT terminal by YAB Prime Minister,which is now known as KLIA2.

KLIA2 is primarily planned and designed to meetthe requirements of the low cost carriers. Uponits completion, it will be the largest dedicatedmega terminal in the world that caters for lowcost carriers with a floor space of 242,000 sqmand a handling capacity for 30 millionpassengers.The terminal will also be built to meetthe Green Building Index certification. KLIA2 islocated approximately two kilometres from the

Main Terminal building, a short distance awayallowing ease of inter-terminal transfers andbetter connectivity between the two terminals.

Also present at the ground-breaking ceremonywere YB Dato’ Seri Kong Cho Ha, Minister ofTransport Malaysia, YBhg Tan Sri Datuk Dr ArisOthman, Chairman of Malaysia Airports,YBhg TanSri Bashir Ahmad, Managing Director of MalaysiaAirports Berhad, UEM Group Chairman YBhg TanSri Dr Ahmad Tajuddin Ali, Bina Puri ChairmanYBhg Dato’ Ir. YB Senator Tan Sri Datuk Tee Hock Seng, GMD ofBina Puri attended a meeting with Regalia projectteam on 25th August 2010 at the project siteoffice. The lunch meeting was to strengthen co-operation with various parties involved especiallythe sub-contractors of the project.

SIGNING OF CONTRACT AGREEMENT WITH BRUNEI ECONOMICDEVELOPMENT BOARD (BEDB)On 17 August 2010, Bina Puri Holdings Bhdsigned an agreement with Brunei EconomicDevelopment Board (BEDB).

Under the agreement, Bina Puri Holdings Bhd willinvest BND9.2 million (equivalent to RM21.46

million) into refurbishments and upgrading ofthree (3) unoccupied apartment blocks at JalanOng Sum Ping at Bandar Seri Begawan. These 72unit apartments will be transformed into modernserviced apartments.

OUTING TO TIOMAN ISLAND, PAHANG, MALAYSIA"It was a peace of mind having a vacation atTioman Island," En. Md Daud Mohamed toldBuletin Bina Puri after going for the company tripto Tioman Island recently.

The trip was organised by the Bina Puri Sportsand Social Club (KSSBP), consisting of twogroups. The first group of 60 members was therefrom 23rd to 26th July 2010 and the secondgroup of 62 members had their turn from 30thJuly to 2nd October 2010.

Among the activities carried out weresnorkkeling, island tour, beach activities andshopping.

Tioman is the largest in a volcanic group ofislands off the east coast of peninsular Malaysia.The natural beauty of the island is its biggestattraction. Lush tropical jungle covers about12,000 hectares of the island and countlessmountain streams and waterfalls sustain themany protected species of mammals and birds.The waters around the island are filled with coralsof all shapes and colours and home to a vastdiversity of sea creatures, including two species ofmarine turtle. There are a few excellent beacheson Tioman, and these curves of golden sand areusually tucked away at the edges of villages orfronting one of the many resorts.
