Site designated by UNESCO in December 2000 for its "outstanding universal values" and the role as one of the most important biological sites in the world.

2. Mount Kinabalu is the Highest mountain in Malaysia with the height of 4095.2m a.s.l. followed by Mount Trusmadi 2,462m a.s.l. which lies between the districts of Tambunan to the north and Keningau to the south (in the state of Sabah in Borneo).

3. The temperature ranges from a comfortable 20-25°C at the main park to something approaching freezing near the top (depending on the weather).

4. The park is one of the most popular tourist spots in Sabah and Malaysia in general. 5. In year 2004, more than 43,430 climbers had climbed the mountain. 6. In year 2007, the Asia’s first Via Ferrata was established on Mount Kinabalu. On 15

th Dec 2009, the ‘via Ferrata’ on Mount

Kinabalu 3,776 meters above sea level has been certified by Guinness World Records as the world’s highest Via Ferrata.
