This is a double negative amplifying effect. The chopping off the trees reduce the capacity to convert away CO2 to O2. The increase in industries and animal farms increases the emission of CO2. This is moving towards a very negative vicious cycle. The increase in CO2 concentration causes the temperature increase, and hence the global warming.

For a healthy/balanced earth, when the sun light shines on the earth, some of the light get reflected to the space. 70% got further reflect back to the earth by the atmosphere layer. Scientists have managed to collect data to prove the correlation between earth temperature and the concentration of CO2 way back to 600 thousands years. Until recently, the scientists found the CO2 concentration has surged high incredibly. With the increase in CO2 concentration, we can expect what will happen to the Earth temperature. Yes, the Earth temperature will increase accordingly. What causes the CO2 concentration increase ?

Human population has been below 250 million from the 1st record of modern human till 1 AD. However, human population increases tremendously to 6.5 billion in 2006 and expected to increase to 9.1 billion in 2050. This can be contributed by the improve in human potency through better control of diseases and health industry.

With increase in human population, it comes with the increasing need in human settlement, increase in industry to cope with the ever increasing human materialistic needs and greed. Also the increase needs of food.

Here are some of the evidence of global warming. These are photos collected from the same place as different time. A mountain taken in 1970 shows it is covered with thick snow. When taken 30 years later in 2000, there is a clear evident of the snow is thinning. When taken 5 years later in 2005, you can see that most of the snow has disappear.

Recently, the 1st time that scientists have seen the breakage of the major iceberg into 2 piece (top right photo). Breakage of iceberg that are of many floors tall above the sea level, and we know beneath the water the iceberg has even thicker ice.

The top left photos : The ice has a very good sun light reflective surface to reflect the heat away from earth. However, with global warming, the ice is melting. Hence more water surfaces are exposed. The exposed water surface will absorb the heat and hence increase the melting speed of the nearby ice. This is an amplifying effective that accelerate the global warming and water level increases. Many polar bears will soon to face the issue to find a land-able ice and hence the extinction.

The chart shows the overall ice surface on earth. It is been fluctuating within a limited range until recently decreses drastically.
