SOALAN TUGASAN /ASSIGNMENT QUESTION
Mathematics teachers are faced not only with the task of carrying out basic
instruction, but are also charged with the responsibility of providing remediation for
those students who do not meet minimum competency standards.
You are required to search for at least TWO articles from books, journals, or internet
resources on teaching remedial mathematics. Summarise some of the strategies of
teaching remedial mathematics from your readings.
Work with a remedial mathematics teacher in the school, or otherwise on your own, to
identify 2-4 students in your mathematics class who need remediation. Plan a
remedial program for them, and carry out the plan. (Refer to the course module Topic
9).
Document the whole process, and prepare a full report. Reflect on your findings,
based on your observation, understanding and readings. Give suggestions for
improvement for the remedial program.
